Here’s where to watch Zombie Land Saga season 2 (AKA Zombie Land Saga Revenge) online, and whether it’s on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime. Idols are media personalities originating from Japan, and they most commonly take the form of singers or bands. Idols are young women or men with manufactured personalities who are designed to inspire a loyal fanbase, though the harsh working conditions involved with the role, in addition to other controversial elements of the industry like performers being banned from dating, have seen the system be widely criticized.

Still, idols are a major part of pop culture in Japan and have formed the basis for several animes. Notable examples include Macross and Zombie Land Saga, which offers a unique, subversive twist on the concept. Needless to say, Zombie Land Saga has nothing to do with the Jesse Eisenberg-fronted Zombieland movie series and instead follows the adventures of Sakura, a teenager who hopes to become an idol. That dream is initially cut short when she’s killed in a hit-and-run accident, but a decade later, she’s resurrected to join an idol group named Franchouchou alongside six other zombies.

Zombie Land Saga eschews The Walking Dead-inspired gore in favor of a wacky mix of comedy with mild doses of horror. Franchouchou the group was put together by a manager named Kotaro Tatsumi to “save” Japan’s Saga Prefecture, and he collected idols from different eras to do just that. The all-zombie idols also have to conceal their undead conditions from fans. The first season arrived in 2018 while season 2, Zombie Land Saga Revenge, debuted in 2021, and here’s where to find the latter series online.

Zombie Land Saga season 2 isn’t currently available on streaming services like Netflix, Hulu or Prime. That said, both seasons can be found on either Funimation or Crunchyroll. Presently, the second season isn’t available to rent or purchase digitally. Zombie Land Saga itself has won good reviews for its absurdist humor and likable cast of characters, in addition to its parody of the idol genre itself.

The first season arrived in 2018, and while it billed itself as a comedy horror, the latter subgenre had little in common with the likes of that same year’s Devilman Crybaby or the third season of Attack On Titan. Zombie Land Saga season 2 itself ended on a cliffhanger note, though it’s unknown if a third series will happen. Given that the idol anime has drawn a sizable fanbase, it feels like a safe bet.
