Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why is based on Jay Asher’s YA novel of the same name. The first season’s plot stays relatively close to the book, but the second deviates into new territory, taking a deep dive into the American high school system and the mental health of its students.

The ensemble cast continues to expand even though some characters disappear between seasons. Either way, the show is abundant in a whole spectrum of characters, from high school students to adults changing the course of their lives. Based on your Zodiac sign, here is the 13 Reasons Why character you’re most like.

12 ARIES: Marcus Cole

As Student Body President at Liberty High School, Marcus is a natural leader who always seems to be in a bright, positive mood. He enjoys the spotlight and is happy to take on any challenges that come his way – including assaulting Hannah Baker.

Clearly, he doesn’t always get it right. He has some selfish tendencies despite his confidence and passion; like an Aries, sometimes he acts before thinking.

11 TAURUS: Bryce Walker

Bryce Walker is the perpetrator of horrendous acts on this show, but of course, this doesn’t apply to every Taurus. Looking at Bryce’s personality, he priorities his own comfort and pleasure, and lives in a luxurious environment, which is important to a Taurus.

Especially in season 3, he perseveres in his goals against all odds. However, he’s often focused on the material world and his own personal gains.

10 GEMINI: Courtney Crimsen

Courtney seems like she’s a lot of fun to be around, but this turns out to be a weakness. She’s intelligent and willing to try new things, which makes her indecisive, impulsive, unreliable, and a bit nosy.

9 CANCER: Olivia Baker

Hannah’s mom displays the qualities typical of a Cancer: she’s loyal, protective, intuitive, and caring. After Hannah’s suicide, she beats herself up for not connecting with her daughter adequately. She’s intensely devoted to her family, so she’s very hurt and disappointed when her husband moves on.

In seasons 2 and 3, Mrs. Baker almost seems psychic in her ability to read and judge people. Her independence keeps pushing until the trial reaches the outcome she knows Hannah deserves. Olivia’s weakness is her penchant for brooding, even when it’s not about Hannah.

8 LEO: Sheri Holland

Sheri is a warm, charismatic person who everyone wants to be around. She’s one of the first friends Hannah makes. But as a Leo, her warmth can turn into fiery passion and determination, which she wields when accusing Mr. Porter of mismanaging his students.

Leos typically make good cheerleaders for their friends, and Sheri is an actual cheerleader in the show’s first season. Her generosity, self-confidence, big heart, and natural leadership equip her with strength and bravery that leads her to dominate everything she sets out to do.

7 VIRGO: Hannah Baker

Hannah displays a very logical, practical, and systematic way of thinking and reasoning, but she does have a Virgo-like presence in the material world. She paints her nails, changes her hairstyle, and has a particular aesthetic when it comes to clothing and her choice of tapes. She’s also a perfectionist and is frustrated when things aren’t set right.

Obviously, she’s hyper-aware of small details, which accumulate inside her and cause her to spiral – but not before she processes each wrongdoing committed against her. But Hannah is also a kind, helpful, supportive, and gentle soul who is methodical in everything she does.

6 LIBRA: Ryan Shaver

Though Ryan Shaver purports to be a poet, he can actually be pretty superficial. However, this is strangely balanced out by his interest in high art and connoisseurship.

He has exquisite tastes, but he tends to be a people pleaser who enjoys people’s company for a short time, then gets tired of how they look together. Otherwise, on the surface, he seems socially adept and charming.

5 SCORPIO: Clay Jensen

Clay is brave, loyal, and honest, to the point that it makes other characters uncomfortable. He’s guided by his emotions and powerful, demanding personality. But despite his intensity and seriousness, he’s a natural leader who also craves intimacy – as we see most clearly with Hannah.

Clay has a penchant for mystery and can appear deep and tough to his peers. He is absolutely dedicated to the tasks he assigns himself, and he doesn’t hold back from bringing the truth to light about Hannah’s case. On the flip side, he can be jealous, resentful, controlling, and very, very stubborn.

4 SAGITTARIUS: Jessica Davis

Jessica is one of the most forward-thinking characters of the series. She’s constantly pushing for progressive change, even if it means rebelling. As an activist, she’s restless, can’t be contained, thwarted, or bossed about because she’s highly independent.

Her desire to meet new people becomes clear when she teams up with the other girls from school, as does her philosophical nature. Sagittarius often enjoys sports and the outdoors, which Jessica displays through her cheerleading and general restlessness.

3 CAPRICORN: Tony Padilla

As a typical Capricorn, Tony is extremely persistent, but also realistic and disciplined. He’s relentless about spreading Hannah’s message and sharing her story, even defending her at the trial when he’s pessimistic about the outcome.

Tony’s also very sensitive, despite the tough exterior he presents to the world. Like a Capricorn, Tony is a hard worker in everything he does, from the trial to his job as a mechanic.

2 AQUARIUS: Ani Achola

Though many viewers will call her out for her flaws, Ani is quite the visionary. She’s eccentric and original if a little pretentious. Because she seems to be constantly evolving, she doesn’t have a clear shape. She thrives on mental stimulation, which makes her an excellent problem solver and an outside-the-box thinker.

She’s the one who saves Clay, Tyler, Alex, and Jessica from condemnation at the end of season 3. Although, Ani can be overly idealistic and unpredictable, like when she gets close to Bryce.

1 PISCES: Zach Dempsey

Though Zach begins the series as an antagonist, we see signs of empathy in him. He connects with Hannah in a way that few other characters do. He also supports Clay, then later becomes close with Alex and Chloe and helps them through their struggles. Like a Pisces, he’s like a therapist for his friends.

Sometimes Zach gives in to his emotions and becomes moody, which is why he switches between helping Clay and staying out of things. When he chooses to, he’s very good at working with other people, though he may have a hard time accepting help from others. In the end, he proves to be loyal and deeply caring.
