In the history of television, there are few actresses who are quite as beloved as Betty White. From the moment that she stepped in front of the camera, she managed to cast a spell on everyone who saw her, and that remained true right up until the day that she died. In her long career she played many different characters, and while some of them were kind and generous, others were snarky and biting.

Looking back, it’s obvious that certain characters that White played have more in common with certain zodiac signs than others. Who would you be, based on astrology?

Aries – Ann Douglas

Even though she was mostly known for her comedic talents, White also made a few dramatic turns, as when she appeared in the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.

As Ann Douglas, she showed all of the signs of the Aries’ indomitable personality. However, she also shows stubbornness, since she was steadfastly unwilling to admit to some of the more unpleasant truths about her family, particularly the fact that her husband abused her daughter for years.

Taurus – Delores Bickerman

As Delores Bickerman, the widow of Lake Placid, White showed that her comedic talents were as sharp as ever. Her character is very much a Taurus. For one thing, she has a stubbornness that leads her to refuse to answer some of the pressing questions that the police have for her.

What’s more, she also shows that earth sign’s brutal practicality, as she continues to feed the giant crocodile even after it was responsible for devouring her husband.

Gemini – Bea Sigurdson

That ‘70s Show is one of the best sitcoms of the 2000s, with a lot of memorable and hilarious characters. One of those was Bea Sigurdson, Kitty’s mother and one of That ’70s Show‘s best secondary characters.

Bea exhibits many of the textbook traits of the Gemini, most notably in her ability to show two different sides to the world. While she might appear like a kindly old lady, she repeatedly showed that she had a waspish and sometimes downright cruel streak when it came to her daughter, whom she seemed to love insulting.

Cancer – Caroline Thomas

The Lost Valentine is rightly seen as one of the most touching Hallmark movies, and Betty White’s performance is one of the movie’s enduring appeals.

Her character, Caroline Thomas, is someone who has held onto the love of her husband for many years, even though he was lost in combat. This aligns her very much with the Cancer, a sign well-known for its willingness to hold onto thoughts and memories, particularly of those that they love.

Leo – Annie

The Proposal is one of the funniest romantic comedies of the 2000s and, unsurprisingly, Betty White is a large part of the reason why.

Her grandmotherly character, Annie, is a Leo in many different ways. For one thing, she has that powerful charisma and charm that is the sun sign’s most notable trait. What’s more, she also has that sign’s willingness and determination to live life on her own terms, no matter what others might think or say about the matter.

Virgo – Joyce Whitman

Even though The Betty White Show isn’t one of the actress’s better-known efforts, it nevertheless is notable for allowing White to show that she could play characters that weren’t especially nice.

Her Joyce Whitman is an actress who has the misfortune to be stuck with her ex-husband as the director on her new television show. Whitman shows all of the classical signs associated with the Virgo, including a desire to have everything her own way and an absolutely unshakable belief that she knows best.

Libra – Vickie Angel

Date with the Angels is another of Betty White’s lesser-known efforts, but there’s no question that her character of Vickie Angel has all of the actress’ extraordinary charm and charisma.

She is very much the sort of nice girl that White would excel at playing, and as such she is very much a Libra, the sign that is most known for its desire and ability to create happiness, balance, and tranquility in those around them. These are all traits that Vickie has in abundance.

Scorpio –  Sue Ann Nivens

Sue Ann Nivens is one of the two roles with which Betty White is most firmly associated, and she is most definitely the one that most neatly fits into the Scorpio.

While she appears to be the happy homemaker, the truth is that she has that streak of darkness and passion that is so often associated with the Scoprio. Of all of the characters that appear on The Mary Tyler Moore show (one of the best sitcoms of the 1970s), she is the one that is most unafraid of going after the men that she wants, no matter what others might have to say.

Sagittarius – Elizabeth

Life with Elizabeth was Betty White’s first major role, and it’s the one that set the trajectory for the rest of her career in television. As with Vickie Angel, Elizabeth has the sort of magnetism and charm that were White’s trademark, and there’s no doubt that her smile managed to light up the screen.

However, she also has some of the chaotic energy that is often the hallmark of the Sagittarius, which leads her to get into the many of the escapades that she does.

Capricorn – Elka

Hot in Cleveland was in some ways White’s swan song, and it showed that, even later in life, her comedic talents remained top-tier.

Her character of Elka is sharp-tongued and caustic, two signs that are typical of Capricorns, and she also shows that sign’s impatience with others and their shortcomings. At the same time, Elka also demonstrates time and again that she really does care for the younger women and that when push comes to shove she will always be in their corner.

Aquarius – Ellen

Even though it is not everyone’s favorite series, there’s no question that Betty White’s Ellen is one of the best things about Mama’s Family.

While the rest of her family is somewhat foolish at times, Ellen has the Aquarius coldness, and she is very dignified. What’s more, like so many other people who are born under that particular air sign, she is also something of an enigma, and neither the audience nor her family seem to ever fully be able to understand her.

Pisces – Rose Nylund

Of all the characters that Betty White portrayed, it is arguably Rose Nylund with whom she is most firmly associated. This character from The Golden Girls is definitely a Pisces.

She has that sign’s ability to understand their own feelings and those of others, and this is what allows her to become the most compassionate character on the show. No matter what happens, the other three women know that they can count on Rose to give them a sympathetic ear, even if they might at times grow more than a little frustrated with her tendency to tell St. Olaf stories.
