Much like their long-term rival Disney, DreamWorks Studios have created numerous beloved animated movies over the years, each with a diverse cast of lovable characters. From grumpy green ogres to spoiled zoo animals, DreamWorks have certainly made their mark in the world of animated characters.

With so many characters under their belts, there is guaranteed to be at least one character to suit each sign of the Zodiac. Whether they are heroes, villains, or sidekicks, each of these characters is relatable in their own way, no matter how quirky they are.

Aries – Shrek (Shrek)

It is fair to say that the most iconic of DreamWork’s characters is the gruff green ogre Shrek. Often preferring his own company, Shrek has certainly become one of the most relatable characters not just in DreamWorks but in animation. In fact, there are many times when fans felt bad for Shrek.

Although one of the smarter characters, Shrek often acts on impulse and emotion, something which most people born under the Aries sign would do. What’s more, Shrek is extremely independent, even after marrying Fiona and making friends, another quality associated with Aries.

Taurus – Fairy Godmother (Shrek 2)

With Lord Farquaad being no more, Shrek 2 introduced a new villain in the surprising form of the Fairy Godmother, a character normally associated with the protagonists. Yet this Fairy Godmother is far from being a good guy and fans absolutely loved her for it.

The Fairy Godmother is best suited to Taurus because of her strength, whether it’s in terms of magical powers, personality, or stubbornness in that ogres should not have happily-ever-afters. What’s more, as a successful celebrity and businesswoman in Far Far Away, the Fairy Godmother exhibits the Taurean aspect of prosperity.

Gemini – Toothless (How To Train Your Dragon)

How To Train Your Dragon is without question one of DreamWorks’ most successful franchises, with all three movies being well received by fans and critics alike. As a result, Toothless the Night Fury has become one of the most iconic dragons in recent popular culture.

What makes Toothless so lovable among fans is that he is just like a big pet cat. He is curious, playful, and agile, all of which makes him a perfect representative of the Gemini sign, along with his remarkable intelligence.

Cancer – Poppy (Trolls)

Based on the popular toy brand, Trolls is a very brightly colored musical fantasy filled with an all-star cast of voice actors. The movie’s reception was mixed among critics but it obviously hit the right note with fans as it resulted in a sequel, Trolls World Tour, with a third movie on the way.

One of the protagonists is the peppy pink troll, Poppy. Poppy is very upbeat and optimistic by nature, yet as the Troll princess, she is also responsible for her actions and cares greatly for others. All of these qualities are linked to those born under the Cancer sign.

Leo – King Julien (Madagascar)

Madagascar has become one of DreamWorks’ most notable franchises, which has numerous memorable characters. One such character is the eccentric lemur, King Julien, which is one of Sacha Baron Cohen’s best movie roles, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

Although Alex is the lion, it is King Julien that radiates the Leo sign, as he is a dramatic and outgoing individual who loves to party and have a great time. Additionally, being a warm and welcoming host is another quality of Leos and despite the initial caution of the “freaks”, Julien warmly welcomed the zoo animals to Madagascar.

Virgo – Dr. Cockroach (Monsters Vs Aliens)

A celebration of 1950s sci-fi horror B-movies, Monsters vs Aliens is one of DreamWorks’ underrated gems. The movie is essentially what it says on the tin, as five monsters that have been locked up in an Area-52-style facility are released to battle an extraterrestrial threat.

One of these monsters is mad scientist Dr. Cockroach, an intellectual genius who can build anything out of anything. Intelligence and analytical skills are a trait common among Virgos, as well as loyalty and helpfulness, the latter two qualities that Dr. Cockroach also exhibits when coming to rescue fellow monster Ginormica.

Libra – Roxanne (Megamind)

Megamind has been very well-received as it brings a unique spin on the classic superhero movie, focusing on the titular supervillain rather than the superhero. Another reason for its popularity is its strong female lead in the form of news reporter Roxanne.

Roxanne may be a sassy woman but she is witty and has a very strong sense of right and wrong, certainly more so than anyone in the movie, even superhero Metro Man. This and her overall likability both in the movie and as a character, make her a great representative of the Libra sign.

Scorpio – Tigress (Kung Fu Panda)

The Kung Fu Panda franchise has become a popular hit among fans, thanks to its breathtaking visuals and an all-star cast. This cast includes Angelina Jolie, in three of her best movies according to Rotten Tomatoes, as the driven kung-fu master Tigress.

Tigress is a very brave and focused individual, taking her duties as a kung fu master very seriously, all of which link her to the Scorpio sign. What further makes her a Scorpio is her stubbornness, which is very evident in the first movie when she refused to accept Po as the Dragon Warrior, and ultimately decided to try and take down Tai Lung herself, even though it wasn’t her fate.

Sagittarius – Oh (Home)

Home is among one of DreamWorks’ less well-received movies, despite its intense marketing campaign, though many will immediately recognize the voice of delightful protagonist Oh as Jim Parsons, most well-known as Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory.

Oh is an outcast among his people and is independent as a result. Yet this does not stop his optimism and sense of humor, two key qualities of the Sagittarius sign. Another Sagittarian characteristic is being adventurous and Oh is most certainly this, especially when compared to the rest of his species, who are meant to be cautious and cowardly by nature.

Capricorn – Theo (The Boss Baby)

The Boss Baby certainly has a very unusual premise of a baby that already has the personality and intelligence of a successful businessman. Yet the movie must have sat well with audiences as it became a franchise with a sequel and a Netflix TV show.

The Boss Baby of the original movie is Theo, voiced by Alec Baldwin. As a businessman-like character who is actually on a mission, Theo is very driven and focused on his goals, and likes order above all else. These traits make him very fitting to represent the Capricorn sign.

Aquarius – Megamind (Megamind)

Megamind starts off as the movie’s villain but when his arch-nemesis Metro Man is killed, he soon finds himself without purpose and decides to reinvent himself. And as he is such a likable and relatable character, Reddit users feel that Megamind deserves a sequel.

Whether he is trying to be good or being his villainous self, the intellectual Megamind is an eccentric, cool, and one-of-a-kind character, which makes him the perfect Aquarius. And let’s not forget his notably blue skin, which is a vital color associated with Aquarians.

Pisces – Oogway (Kung Fu Panda)

Master Oogway is the oldest and wisest kung fu master in the Kung Fu Panda franchise. Although he sadly passes on in the first movie, he is still able to give Po some sage advice in the spirit realm during the events of Kung Fu Panda 3.

Gentle and calm, Oogway is not only wise but is extremely empathetic, both of which are qualities linked to the Pisces sign. What’s more, he often demonstrates the Pisces characteristic of intuition, which is most recognized when he immediately sensed that Po was to be the Dragon Warrior.
