Each and every person had their own style and motivations, from Rory with her desire to learn everything to Richard with his head for business, there was someone for everyone in the audience to relate to. 

Based on that information, fans can now find out which character from this popular TV show they are most like, based on their zodiac signs. Canon birthdays, personalities, and more went into these entertaining and educational decisions to decipher the Gilmore Girls zodiac signs.

Whether those residents are chugging six cups of coffee or scowling across a diner counter, it’s no surprise that the audience finds the characters relatable. What might be surprising is just what this combination of personality traits translates to when it comes to Gilmore Girls star signs. 

13 Aries – April

April Nardini, Luke’s long-lost daughter, was born, as her name implies, in April, meaning she just may have been an Aries. (Their birth dates fall between March 21 and April 19.) Aries are often thought of as the “youngest” of the signs, which makes April totally suitable.

Aries tend to be eager and competitive. They jump into things wholeheartedly. April’s bubbly personality and the way she excelled at everything make her a good fit. She never tackled a project half-heartedly and Luke found himself with an enthusiastic academic doing science projects at diner tables, much to his surprise.

12 Taurus – Lorelai

Not every character has their birthday revealed in the series, but Lorelai does. With an April 25 birthday, Lorelai Gilmore is a Taurus.

Those who are born under the sign of Taurus tend to be strong, creative, and responsible. They love to ensure stability for their loved ones, but also can’t resist a good art project. Lorelai, despite her love for spontaneous fun, makes sure Rory has the most stable of environments. They have a morning routine (which involves coffee at Luke’s) and regular movie nights in their living room. From raising a daughter on her own and starting her own business to dressing in colorful clothes, Lorelai is a true Taurus. 

11 Gemini – Sookie

Geminis have a reputation for being two-faced, but they’re really social butterflies. Geminis find ways to fit into any social situation. Some descriptive words for these types include expressive, caring, and adaptable.

This may remind some people of Sookie St. James, who certainly expressed herself in big and bold ways, though that tended to come across most in her food. She often showed her care by putting together plates of food for Lorelai to take home, and always adapted to cancellations, overbookings, or missing ingredients in time to save the menu.

10 Cancer – Dean

Those born under the sign of Cancer are deeply feeling people. They never shy away from their feelings and definitely know how to hold a grudge. These people are compassionate and protective… like Dean Forester.

While things did not work out for him and Rory, he was an amazing first boyfriend who truly wanted to get to know her. His Cancer traits tended to make him wear his heart on his sleeve, so he was blatantly jealous when Rory started hanging out with Jess.

9 Leo – Paris

Dramatic, outgoing, and confident are a few of the words that can be used for Leos. Leos tend to like being the center of attention — whether that’s at a big party or in an academic standing depends on the individual. 

A character who fits in nicely here would be Paris Geller. She was smart and spunky, and she knew what she wanted, how she wanted it, and which way would get it done in the best way possible. Her planning skills could rival a Virgo’s, but Paris’ Leo nature meant she always wanted to be the person at the top of the dean’s list. It often put her at odds with Rory when they first met.

8 Virgo – Emily

If anyone entered the world between August 23 and September 22, that means they are a Virgo. Some traits associated with them are practical, hardworking, and critical, which sounds a bit like Emily Gilmore. 

Whether she was throwing a party or going about her day-to-day life, she put all she had into it, and she expected it to be perfect… or else. Emily didn’t just put the pressure on herself to be perfect but also on everyone who worked for her as she was incredibly critical of her household staff and her own daughter, always providing her own alternative plans for them.

7 Libra – Rory

Like her mother, Rory Gilmore’s birthday is revealed in the course of the series. As a result of her October 8 birthday, the Rory Gilmore zodiac sign fans can aspire to is Libra.

Fair and gracious are some words that are used to describe Libras as they tend to focus on bringing balance to their lives. Rory was a very kind, patient, and humble person, making this a great fit for her. She tended to listen to the woes of the people around her, whether it was Kirk on the Stars Hollow street, or Paris in the hall at school. Libras also tend to have a bit of that Gemini charm, which is why Rory is able to make friends so quickly, even with academic rivals like Paris.

6 Scorpio – Luke

It’s revealed in the series that Luke Danes’ birthday fell sometime in October or November. Scorpios are born during the same time frame, and their traits include being stubborn and brave. Luke is a pretty perfect fit for a Scorpio considering just how stubborn he is about changing the rules or the menu in his diner — no matter what customers want.

Scorpios tend to keep their secrets too, like Luke not wanting to admit his feelings for Lorelai. Some may say he was stuck in his ways, but he eventually came around… for the right person and the right reason at least!

5 Ophiuchus – Kirk

Ophiuchus isn’t recognized as a zodiac sign by many astrology fans, but there has been plenty of debate as to whether it should be added to the lineup. This sign has a lot in common with the stubborn and sometimes aggressive Scorpio, as well as adventurous Sagittarius.

Fan-favorite Stars Hollow resident Kirk actually represents this sign best among the Gilmore Girls character. His approach to getting people to participate in his town activities is always aggressive, but he also has a genuine interest in trying new things. Kirk goes through a lot of jobs in town as he tries to find himself, and that’s his version of adventure.

4 Sagittarius – Miss Patty

Miss Patty is both extroverted and hilarious, which are two common traits amongst the Sagittarius sign. They also tend to be pretty adventurous, with a love for both travel and storytelling. 

While she was not seen in every episode, Miss Patty’s stories from her past career and her town performances put on by her classes certainly demonstrated her love for adventure before she settled down in Stars Hollow. If she featured in an episode, the audience knew she’d have a story to tell.

3 Capricorn – Richard

Capricorns are often thought of as serious and disciplined, which sounds a lot like Richard Gilmore. Those born under Capricorn see the value in hard work and family connections. 

Sure, Richard could be playful and knew how to have a good time, but he was a sophisticated professional, a successful man, and a provider for his loved ones, above all. Richard’s might be one of the easiest Gilmore Girls zodiac signs to speculate as he was constantly talking business tips with his friends and even Rory.

2 Aquarius – Logan

An Aquarius is someone who is full of imagination, stands out from the crowd, and is totally uncompromising. Logan Huntzberger’s birthday was somewhere in February, which would fall right in the last half of the Aquarius birth dates.

Jess is a great fit for Pisces, the dreamiest side of the zodiac. Pisces tend to be in their own heads a lot, which seems like a great place for someone who loves literature to be. They’re also known as being artistic and emotional, though Jess tended to hide a lot of what he was feeling in his anger when he first came to Stars Hollow. Most of his emotions were focused on arguing with Luke instead of channeled into his writing, though this would change when he was an adult.
