In the world of Harry Potter, it can often seem like Gryffindor is what matters most. Most of the main characters come from Gryffindor house and many of their antagonists stem from Slytherin. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tend to be the afterthoughts of the Hogwarts houses.

At Hogwarts, though, there would be no functionality without the Ravenclaws. They are crucial for keeping the spirit of the school intact and the academics at a high standing. There are so many Ravenclaws who made an impact on the world, for good and for bad. When combining their iconic figures with the signs of the Zodiac, characters will embody the Zodiac traits better than initially thought.

12 Aries – Terry Boot

Terry Boot is a fairly minor character in the Harry Potter series, but he is also one of the most prominent Ravenclaw members of Dumbledore’s Army. He fits the Aries mold because of his undeniable independence.

In the books, Terry never goes with the flow. He always thinks for himself and makes the best decision he can. His friends follow him, not the other way around.

11 Taurus – Helena Ravenclaw

Also known as “the Grey Lady,” Helena is the daughter of Hogwarts co-founder, Rowena Ravenclaw. Not only is she an obvious Ravenclaw candidate, but she is also strongly tied to the Taurus ideals.

Very stubborn and hard to persuade, Helena was hellbent from birth to trailblaze her own destiny in the Wizarding world. Ever the intelligent one (of course), Helena used her smarts for her own independence, rather than her studies.

10 Gemini – Padma Patil

Could any other Ravenclaw be slotted into Gemini than Padma Patil? As one of the twins at Hogwarts, there is no doubt that she is a perfect Gemini fit.

Padma is more than just a twin, though. She also has a spirited personality and is not afraid to be interested in the things that are most compelling to her, frivolous as they may occasionally be. There is pure passion pervading throughout Padma Patil.

9 Cancer – Sybill Trelawney

One of the top traits associated with Cancers is that they have immense psychological depths. So much so, in fact, that Cancers can be called psychics.

Which Ravenclaw (or Hogwarts faculty member, for that matter) fits this better than Professor Trelawney? The Divination professor at Hogwarts, Sybill is quite capable of making predictions and prophecies that come true.

8 Leo – Luna Lovegood

This is the entry for alliteration because Luna Lovegood, the books’ most iconic Ravenclaw, is absolutely a Leo. She has the most self-esteem of arguably any Harry Potter character.

This is a quality of Leo, but so is the warmth that Luna exudes with every character with whom she interacts. A natural leader, Luna is the clear cut representative for Leo.

7 Virgo – Cho Chang

At first glance, Cho Chang might seem like a very shy and demure person. This may be true, to an extent, but these qualities come about because Cho embodies what it means to be a Virgo.

Introverted and quiet, Cho is more attuned to listening than to speaking. Because of this, she always provides great advice to her friends, just as a Virgo would be inclined to do.

6 Libra – Filius Flitwick

Of all the heads of houses at Hogwarts, Ravenclaw’s head, Professor Filius Flitwick, is the unquestionable glue guy. He keeps things functioning and harmonious at Hogwarts, thanks to the Libra tendencies within him.

Professor Flitwick is an intelligent professor who knows what is best for the school, but he also trusts the opinions of his students. Collaboration is key for Flitwick’s style and it’s why he has such strong Libra vibes.

5 Scorpio – Penelope Clearwater

Scorpios are always inclined to be more bookish and academic. If one ever sees a passionate debate unfolding, it’s likely that at least one Scorpio is involved. And in the Wizarding World, it’s likely that a Ravenclaw is, too.

A Prefect who values rules, structure, and intelligence, Penelope Clearwater is extremely reluctant to allow herself to be bested. That is why she embodies Scorpio qualities like no other eagle.

4 Sagittarius – Quirinus Quirrell

There are tons of positive traits that are found in the Sagittarius, but Professor Quirinus Quirrell is not prone to any of them. As a villainous character (spoiler alert), he is all of the negative traits of a Sagittarius.

Professor Quirrell does not adhere to Dumbledore’s strict code of conduct for professors. Granted, he breaks these rules severely by hosting Voldemort on the back of his head. But that’s just the Sagittarius in Quirrell. He was generous of spirit, but for the wrong reasons.

3 Capricorn – Gilderoy Lockhart

Is Gilderoy Lockhart a true Ravenclaw or did he manipulate his way into this house at Hogwarts, too? One thing is for certain, though. Lockhart is absolutely a figure of Capricorn.

Never one to back down, Lockhart will do whatever it takes to get his way in the world. Often, it comes at the detriment of others (like when he stole the stories of heroes), but that doesn’t mean that Gilderoy is not opposed to classic Capricorn characteristics. After all, he knows how to advance far in society.

2 Aquarius – Garrick Ollivander

In the Harry Potter world, Garrick Ollivander is a singular man. He owns the wand shop and is the preeminent expert on the tool of wizards. Ollivander cannot be categorized because he is always an independent man who breaks free from boundaries.

This, ironically, paints him as an Aquarius. For an Aquarius, the world is a world of change. Ollivander embraces change at every turn. But he never forgets what came before.

1 Pisces – Michael Corner

Pisces are always recognized by their strong intelligence and their willingness to act in a moral capacity at every turn. Michael Corner always does the right thing, even if he doesn’t get the credit for it in the Ravenclaw house.

Michael Corner fights in the Battle of Hogwarts, which is a deeply moral thing to do. He always does the right thing and the brave thing, even if he doesn’t quite get the fame that his friends do.
