Here’s which of Adam Sandler‘s famous friends appears in his movies the most. It’s fair to say that Sandler, who was contentiously fired from Saturday Night Live, isn’t quite the comedic force he once was. Whereas his 1990s and early 2000s output mostly became blockbusters, and many ended up regarded as comedy classics, his work since the 21st century began has been a mixed bag. It’s a testament, though, to Sandler’s ability to earn loyal followers that no matter how beat up his more recent films are by critics, they still draw millions of streams on Netflix.

Some would argue that Sandler’s lost a step over the years, but his excellent work in the incredibly foul-mouthed Uncut Gems – a rare dramatic role – proved that he’s still very talented. If anything, Sandler seems to have settled into the idea that his most dedicated viewers love basically everything he creates, so why step outside his usual box when he can just make more movies that exist primarily for Sandler to go on vacation to beautiful places and work with his friends.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Working alongside famous friends is definitely not a recent trend for Sandler, though, as he’s had regular collaborators from the earliest days of his film career, including the late Chris Farley. Sandler’s most frequent co-star is actually Allen Covert, whose friendship with Sandler goes back to their college days, although he’s only ever had one starring role in the Sandler-produced Grandma’s Boy. When it comes to Sandler’s most frequent collaborator that’s also a celebrity, the distinction goes to Home Alone 2 breakout star Rob Schneider, whose relationship with Sandler goes back to their time together on Saturday Night Live.

Most often appearing as a character who shouts “you can do it!” at Sandler from a large crowd, Schneider has so far appeared in some way in a whopping 15 movies that Sandler has starred in. He’s also starred in several movies produced by Sandler, such as Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo and The Hot Chick. As for the Sandler-fronted movies that Schneider has appeared in, the list includes:

  • The Waterboy (1998)
  •  Big Daddy (1999)
  • Little Nicky (2000)
  • Eight Crazy Nights (2002)
  • Mr. Deeds (2002)
  • 50 First Dates (2004)
  •  The Longest Yard (2005)
  • Click (2006)
  •  I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007)
  • Bedtime Stories (2008)
  • You Don’t Mess With The Zohan (2008)
  • Grown Ups (2010)
  • The Ridiculous 6 (2015)
  • Sandy Wexler (2017)
  • Netflix’s Hubie Halloween (2020), which is the most recent collaboration.

When one adds Sandler and Schneider’s time as colleagues on Saturday Night Live into the mix, that means the two comic actors have been working together on a semi-regular basis for about 30 years at this point. That’s a very long time to maintain a friendship in the famously cutthroat world of Hollywood, although Sandler certainly doesn’t fit the mold of a traditional Hollywood leading man and has never seemed to have trouble making and staying friends with his fellow comedians. While Adam Sandler also collaborates regularly with other SNL cast member friends like David Spade, Chris Rock, and Tim Meadows, it seems unlikely anyone will pass Schneider in that regard anytime soon.
