Who Madden NFL 21’s Best Team Is

Madden NFL ’21 is due to be released on August 28, but some fans are playing the game with pre-order deals already. The best teams are being put head-to-head and, according to the ratings, the New Orleans Saints are the best team in Madden NFL ’21. The Saints boast a 99 OVR player in wide receiver Michael Thomas, and quarterback Drew Brees is rated a 93 overall. The Saints have the top ranked offense in the game with a 96 overall score, beating out Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs offensive score of 92.

Teams are given a score out 99 for offense, defense and overall, similar to Madden 20. The Saints are tied for the third highest defensive score at 86, only two points behind the best defense in the NFL, the Chicago Bears. The Saints continue their reign as Madden’s best offense for a second year, and knock off the Eagles as the top ranked overall team.

The Saints have some of Madden‘s best offensive players. Adding to Thomas and Brees, the Saints have two of the best Offensive Lineman in the game, Ryan Ramczyk and Terron Armstead. Plus, they’ve got Alvin Kamara, the fourth year running back out of Tennessee. Kamara has X-factor abilities such as Matchup Nightmare, which allows him to perform sharper cuts. Kamara is one of three Saints with X-factor abilities on offense, along with Thomas and Brees. The Saints’ other offensive positions aren’t too shabby either, with veterans Emmanuel Sanders and Jared Cook giving Brees more receiving options.

Defensively, the Saints have the best Left End in Madden 21 in Cam Jordan. Jordan has multiple X-factor abilities to bring to the table, which also help to improve the all-new pass rush mechanics. He’ll be the focal point of the fourth-best defense in this year’s Madden. CB Marshon Lattimore is Jordan’s sidekick, rated at 87 OVR. Lattimore has been with the Saints for all four years of his career, and could have a breakout season this year.

The next best team in Madden NFL 21 is the 2020 Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs. They’ve also got a member of the 99 OVR club on their roster, QB Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes was the cover player for Madden NFL 20 and has only improved since last year. He’s got multiple exclusive abilities, and is the best player at the most important position in the game. The Chiefs offense can give the Saints a run for their money, with Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, and rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Hill is the fastest player in the game and Kelce provides another top-tier option when Hill is covered. Edwards-Helaire will have some proving to do after coming out of the NCAA, but rookies often see their numbers jump quickly.

Other teams have one main player who is fun to play with, like the Panthers’ Christian McCaffery, the most valuable player on Ultimate Team or the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers. Some teams don’t even have a mascot! But no team in Madden NFL ’21 dominates both sides of the ball like the Saints.
