Who was crowned the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9? Reality television became increasingly popular following the success of shows like Big Brother, Survivor, and American Idol. RuPaul’s Drag Race arrived on Logo back in 2009 and proved to be an instant hit with viewers. Valentina was also named Miss Congeniality and would go on to appear on the fourth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

Velour walked away from RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 with a $100,000 prize and year’s supply of cosmetics. While the ninth season came in for critique by longtime fans for various changes to the format, such as an overreliance on lipsync battles, but the show still proved to be a ratings winner. Season 10 was received a little better overall, with contestant Aquaria ultimately crowned the winner after a lipsync battle performing the song “Bang Bang.” The franchise itself is showing no signs of slowing down either, with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK set to debut sometime in 2019, with Graham Norton acting as one of the judges.
