Why Ellie From 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Isn’t As Naive As She Seems

Pizza queen Ellie Rose may not be as gullible as fans think she is in her relationship with Providencia man Victor McLean on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Seattle-based Ellie has been with Victor on his island for the last few episodes of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off after having let go of her thriving business and closest friends. While Ellie wished to open a beach bar with Victor, hurricane Iota has ruined all her future plans. At the same time, Ellie has been supporting Victor, even as he continues to say that she only sees dollar signs. Fans wanted Ellie to dump Victor and head back home, but now, they’re engaged to be married. However 45-year-old Ellie moved to the Colombian island with a few tricks up her sleeve.

It was during Ellie’s introduction on 90 Day Fiancé that fans figured her dreamboat Victor was a lost cause. It was revealed that Ellie received messages from a woman Victor was staying with during the pandemic behind Ellie’s back. Victor claimed he didn’t mean anything he said to this woman and there was nothing serious about it. Additionally, nine years ago, he got a domestic violence charge for an incident between him and his daughter’s mom. However, Ellie claimed she has spoken to Victor’s ex and they now have a good relationship. Ellie also admitted to giving Victor $5,000 for his home renovations.

Clearly, Ellie has been all-in for Victor and has hardly given it a thought that the man she wants to marry is a liar, manipulator, and a cheat. Or has she? Ellie was living a lonely life after her husband Matt passed away in 2004 just 11 months into their marriage. Ellie then focused her energies on building her successful Central Pizza business. Ellie appears to have made a sizeable amount of money, as she wanted to move to Providencia and start her bar with Victor. It’s likely Ellie had her fill with city life and was looking forward to escaping the chaos when she met Victor during her accidental trip to his town. Victor locked eyes with Ellie and asked her to stay back for two more weeks, which she did unreluctantly.

Interestingly, Ellie’s attitude towards Providencia changed after the hurricane because it possibly wrecked her dream of living the island life. On 90 Day Fiancé, Ellie admitted she didn’t see herself “surviving like this” after Victor first took her to see his ruined home. She also dismissed Victor’s dream of having a baby with the situation around them being so dire. Perhaps this is why rumors suggest Ellie and Victor are now in America. Fans have spotted Ellie back in her pizzeria, which also suggests she may have never handed over the restaurant completely to her partner. She may have still wanted to earn cash via her business so she could live off the money with Victor in Providencia.

At 45, and with a possible mid-life crisis going on, Ellie may have met Victor at just the right time. Her angry outburst at Victor on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way might be Ellie regretting her original decision of moving in with him in the beach shack. But when Victor proposed to Ellie, one could see her smiling radiantly. It’s easy to see Ellie chooses to ignore Victor’s red flags and she expertly knows how to hide her own too. But Ellie seems satisfied with Victor in her life and she could have made peace with the idea that wherever she is with Victor, is home.
