Why Playing Genshin Impact On Mobile Is Better With A Controller

Since Genshin Impact is available on so many different platforms, players may have a hard time deciding which version is right for them. One of the biggest differences between versions comes down to using the controller or not, since PC players can use a mouse and keyboard and mobile players can rely on their touchscreen controls. However, playing with a controller on mobile comes with its own set of advantages.

Currently, Genshin Impact is available on PC, mobile, and PlayStation consoles. The free-to-play RPG has already proven to be a behemoth in mobile gaming, with Genshin Impact earning $400 million on mobile alone in its first two months. And while it launched without controller support on mobile, Version 1.3 of the game finally allowed players to use the Xbox and the PlayStation DualShock 4 wireless controllers.

For players who’ve gotten used to the mobile version of Genshin Impact, getting used to a controller may take some time. However, it’s the ideal way to play the game, since a controller is arguably better for both combat and exploration than using the touchscreen. This can be especially true when using ranged Genshin Impact characters like Fischl and Amber. On PC, ranged users are generally more precise with a mouse and keyboard, but on mobile, controllers make the better option.

How Controllers Work For Genshin Impact On Mobile

Ranged combat isn’t the only part of Genshin Impact on mobile that gets improved when using a controller. Exploration is a huge part of the game, and being able to quickly move between areas, open a Wind Glider, open chests, and fight enemies (sometimes all in quick succession) is far easier with a controller. The touchscreen controls are fine, but they often aren’t as responsive as button presses on a controller, which can sometimes be the difference between life and death in Domains.

Comfortability is another pro, since playing Genshin Impact for a long time on a mobile device can cause hands to cramp up. Controllers can avoid this issue, or at least alleviate it at somewhat, so players spending long sessions in-game may prefer it.

Genshin Impact had a huge mobile launch, so it’s great that the game allows for controller support now. For those who prefer controllers to touchscreens, it’s already the better choice. However, some players used to the touchscreen already may choose to keep using it. Ultimately, controller options will come down to a player’s preferences. However, it can make gameplay in Genshin Impactsmoother and more comfortable, so it’s worth a try.
