Here’s a recap of the key events in Wisdom Of The Crowd season 1 episode 13. CBS crime drama Wisdom Of The Crowd stars Jeremy Piven as Jeffrey Tanner, a wealthy San Francisco tech entrepreneur who develops a cutting-edge crowd-sourcing app called Sophe that he hopes will generate leads that could solve his daughter Mia’s murder.

Tanner’s crack team includes a trio of tech geniuses – Sara (Natalia Tena, Game Of Thrones), Josh (Blake Lee) and Tariq (Jake Matthews) – and SFPD detective Tommy Cavanaugh (Richard T. Jones). Like Tanner, Cavanaugh isn’t convinced that the man charged for Mia’s murder (her on-off boyfriend Carlos, played by Hotel Artemis’ Ramses Jimenez) is actually guilty – much to the chagrin of Tanner’s congresswoman ex-wife Alex (Monica Potter) who thinks the right man is behind bars.

While the driving plot behind Wisdom Of The Crowd season 1 was the identity of Mia’s killer, the show had a case of the week format which saw Tanner and his team solve various other crimes with the help of Sophe and its many users. Unluckily for its fans, Wisdom Of The Crowd was cancelled after just one season when CBS declined to back order additional episodes of the show in light of weak ratings, and its investigation into sexual harassment allegations against star Jeremy Piven. It seems the show’s writing team assumed CBS would order more episodes because its season 1 finale didn’t tie up many loose ends and gave viewers no answers as to who killed Mia.

On the upside, the case of the week in Wisdom Of The Crowd season 1 episode 13 did at least relate in some way to Mia’s murder. Titled “The Tipping Point,” the episode saw the team look into the death of prolific Sophe user and conspiracy theorist Carl Bullock who had a bulletin board dedicated solely to Mia’s case. However, the Mia connection turned out to be a red herring when it transpired Carl was killed by a corrupt mayoral assistant who he discovered was taking bribes for city bids.

Elsewhere in Wisdom Of The Crowd season 1 episode 13, Carlos was released from jail after evidence sourced through Sophe came to light that proved he wasn’t Mia’s murderer. The episode ended with Tanner taking Carl Bullock’s bulletin board of Mia’s case to Sophe HQ and the team continuing their quest to find her killer. Wisdom Of The Crowd’s series finale wasn’t the best, nor did it offer much finality to the story but that’s thanks to its abrupt cancellation.
