New cover art for an upcoming Marvel issue has brought back Wolverine and Rogue’sSavage LandcostumesWolverine #19 has received a stunning exclusive cover bringing back one of the X-Men’s most popular costumes. Things are starting to get wild.

Rogue’s Savage Land look is one of the character’s most iconic outfits. First appearing in Uncanny X-Men #269 in 1990, it is an appearance that has proven incredibly popular amongst the cosplay community. It is so appreciated that it keeps finding its way back. The newest iteration has arrived in an exclusive comic variant cover. However, she isn’t alone – Wolverine has joined her with his own fierce, ragged look.

On Twitter, Unknown Comic Books (a comic retailer) shared an exclusive variant cover for Wolverine #19. This issue has the creative team of Benjamin Percy, Javier Fernandez, Matthew Wilson, and Cory Petit. The exclusive variant cover is illustrated by Alan Quah. While this issue has nothing to do with the Savage Land itself, Wolverine will still be facing a beastly opponent off the coast of Krakoa. The sea creature he ran across before will finally meet its match in the depths of the ocean.

Also visible within the art of this Wolverine variant is a large tyrannosaurus rex. Although Wolverine will be fighting a leviathan and not a jungle predator, the cover certainly captures the ferocity that he will be bringing to his next foe. Wolverine last ran into the creature while on an X-Force mission and it is proving to be a danger to the island’s inhabitants. As a result, it is time to send in one of the most effective and deadly X-Men Krakoa has to offer. There’s no question that if anyone can take it out, it will be Logan. Wolverine is a master hunter and his skills have proven to be insurmountable by the opponents he has faced in the past. Whether he has his X-Men suit, his Savage Land apparel, or something else entirely, he’ll be prepared for any fight.

The Savage Land has been a staple location in Marvel Comics, first appearing in Marvel Mystery Comics #22 in 1941. It is the home of Ka-Zar, who has also recently returned to Marvel Comics in his own series. For fans wanting to see more of the prehistoric land, that would be another series to check out, as Wolverine’s upcoming battle will be much closer to home for him. The X-Men may not be in the Savage Land right now, but many places are simply a portal away. Fans can see Wolverine’s latest battle when Wolverine #19 releases on December 22, though the variant cover featuring Rogue is currently available from Unknown Comics.
