The long-awaited film Wonder Woman 1984 is finally here! The fans have eagerly anticipated another adventure of the brave Amazon princess who left Themyscira and went to live in the land of men. Jumping from World War One to the 1980s, Diana faces an unexpected threat that can destroy everyone.

Even though the second film isn’t as humorous as its predecessor, the fans didn’t let this fact stop them. They still found humor even in the most unexpected moments – and some fairly obvious that aimed to be funny right from the start. Just like every big superhero movie, Wonder Woman 1984 already has plenty of hilarious memes to its name.

10 The Struggle Is Real

Having a crush on someone who doesn’t return the feeling isn’t easy. Luckily for Steve Trevor, he didn’t have this type of problem. Diana missed him for years so the moment she got the chance, she wished him back into existence.

However, when it came to other men, Diana was oblivious, polite, but she didn’t pay them any attention… just like she wouldn’t notice a trash can standing nearby.

9 End Of Story

Overall, the DCEU doesn’t have as many successful movies as the MCU. A lot of its movies were met with a lot of criticism both from the general audience and from the critics.

Before Wonder Woman 1984 came out, many people believed that it would present another proof of why the DCEU is superior to the MCU. Unfortunately, the film didn’t repeat the first movie’s performance and the reviews are worse. Still, it’s nice to imagine what could have been.

8 He Stole It!

Both the film’s main villain Maxwell Lord and Lucifer from the TV show Lucifer use the same gimmick – they draw out the desires of others. But just like with the eternal egg and chicken question, it remains to be seen who did it first.

All available proof suggests that it was Lucifer, and Maxwell Lord just stole the trick from him. However, it’s also possible that Lucifer was the one who created the stone in the first place – it sounds like the type of joke he wouldn’t be able to resist once upon a time. Did someone say crossover?

7 Get Better Friends

Of all the main characters in the film, it’s Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Minerva who makes some questionable choices. And not just when she wishes to be like Diana – but when she chooses to trust Maxwell Lord, of all people. To be fair to Barbara, people mostly overlooked her before and she was lonely and miserable.

It’s easy to imagine that even if she had any friends, they would have introduced her in a similar fashion. Still, she should have gone for befriending Diana, not Max.

6 Flying Like A Plane

Wonder Woman debuts her amazing invisible jet in the film – thanks to a trick she learned from her dad, but only tested it once before on a cup of coffee.

Either way, a part of the film’s message is how important it is to have hope, to keep believing in the world and in other people. So there’s no reason why Diana couldn’t believe she can also fly even if she doesn’t have her invisible jet at hand.

5 They Just Got Burned!

The sad truth is that not every superhero film has the same quality. And that’s even truer for the DCEU than other superhero franchises. Some of the DCEU films scored well with the fans and critics alike while others bombed, at least when it comes to their ratings.

Overall, Wonder Woman’s first film continues to be one of the best alongside Aquaman (2018) and Shazam! (2019)… and then there’s “Save Martha!”

4 Life Is Good

No matter what some people might think about Maxwell Lord, the truth is that the guy never gives up. Unlike other villains who throw in the towel when things get tough, Maxwell Lord just keeps pushing through in the film, convinced he’ll make it in the end and everything will be awesome, life will be good.

But judging by the meme, what would make audiences’ life even better would be Diana and Barbara hitting it off. Some fans were disappointed to learn Diana and Barbara wouldn’t be a couple in the films. It looks like Maxwell Lord shares the sentiment.

3 Stealing Is Bad (But Diana Approves)

Considering the fact that movie theaters are closed right now, the fans who were eagerly anticipating Wonder Woman 1984, had to make do. Most of them solved the problem by watching the film on HBO Max. But funnily enough, when the film premiered, the crime rates also grew.

At least when it came to stolen passwords, because not everybody has an account at HBO Max, and these people had to get the passwords to someone else’s account. Hopefully, it didn’t lead to any relationships breaking up or becoming worse, like in this classic distracted boyfriend meme.

2 Green With Envy But Impressed

Wonder Woman 1984 marked a lot of changes for Diana. Not only did she briefly reunite with her one true love, Steve Trevor, but she also got an impressive new armor – and an invisible jet as well!

What’s more, Diana also discovered some cool new powers, like swinging across the sky in a way even Spider-Man might be envious of. It’s hard to say what the next step will be and what Diana will learn in her third solo film, but it’s bound to be meme-worthy.

1 The Current Battle

Wonder Woman is dealing with her own set of problems in Wonder Woman 1984… but considering the current situation in the world, it’s no wonder people related to this meme.

It describes to the last letter what happens when plans meet reality – and when it comes to a year like 2020, pandemic and all, it’s safe to say the past year’s lasso really did a number on everyone’s plans.
