The rebooted Wrong Turn arrived in January 2021 but who are the movie’s main players, and where have audiences seen the cast before? Released back in 2003, the original Wrong Turn was an unpretentious but relatively effective throwback to the gory backwoods slashers of the 1970s that saw its cast of attractive suburbanites face off against monstrous mountain men in a bloody fight to the death. Owing its inspiration to The Hills Have Eyes and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Wrong Turn avoided the pointed political commentary of those earlier hits to focus on a simple story with gruesome kills.

The original Wrong Turn was a sleeper hit, resulting in a string of increasingly silly, comedic sequels. However, by the time the sixth installment rolled around, recent remakes of both The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hills Have Eyes franchises – as well as their subsequent sequels – ensured the public had grown weary of gory, country-fried horror tales. Now, though, the folk horror revival represented by the likes of Midsommar has ensured the Wrong Turn series has an audience again, leading to the new reboot.

A more serious and thoughtful exploration of the franchise’s themes, this rebooted Wrong Turn stars a slew of recognizable – and in some cases, soon to be shattered – faces from film and TV. Let’s take a look at the movie’s roster of heroes and villains.

Charlotte Vega as Jen Shaw

The star of 2017’s acclaimed Irish indie horror The Lodgers, Charlotte Vega is no stranger to the world of creepy, countryside horror movies. She headlines the new Wrong Turn outing as Jen, a hiker who joins her friends on an Appalachian trail that soon turns bloody.

Adain Bradley as Darius Clemons

Recently seen getting dunked in a hot tub on the CW’s Riverdale as punishment for his character’s penchant for womanizing, Adain Bradley’s Wrong Turn role sees the actor get a well-earned chance to play the good guy for a change. And a good guy Darius Clemons certainly is, as the well-meaning boyfriend of Vega’s heroine Jen.

Bill Sage as Ram Skull

Frequent Hal Hartley collaborator/veteran indie darling Bill Sage has a choice role in the Wrong Turn reboot, and while not a lot is known about his character “Ram Skull” beyond his name, sometimes that’s enough of a clue. Odds are the horror actor who was recently seen in The Boy, We Are What We Are, and The Pale Door will be taking on villain duties once more.

Emma Dumont as Milla D’Angelo

Best known for her brief role in Inherent Vice, Emma Dumont plays Milla, the best friend of Wrong Turn’s aforementioned heroine Jen who surely will be able to avoid the grisly fate that befalls most horror heroine’s best friends.

Dylan McTee as Adam

Last seen in 2018’s indie horror hit The Wind, Dylan McTee will play Adam, Milla’s boyfriend who is equally likely to enjoy a long, full life.

Matthew Modine as Scott

Recently seen in season 1 of Stranger Things and arguably best known for war movie classic Full Metal Jacket, Matthew Modine plays Jen’s dad Scott, who goes in search of his daughter a few weeks after her hiking crew vanishes without a trace in the wilderness.

Wrong Turn’s Supporting Cast

Rounding out the Wrong Turn ensemble are Adrian Favela and Vardaan Arora as another couple, Luis and Gary, who are hiking with the central quartet, and Daisy Head as the mysterious Edith.
