WWE’s Big Show is the Marvel supervillain Kingpin in recent Spider-Man fan art. Kingpin, whose real name is Wilson Fisk, has appeared in numerous comics since he was introduced in the 1960s. Though he first initially battled Spider-Man, the character went on to become the enemy of Daredevil and the Punisher. This has been reflected in his numerous film and TV appearances. In the last several years, Vincent D’Onofrio and Liev Schreiber have been responsible for the most well-known portrayals of Fisk. D’Onofrio played Kingpin in Netflix’s live-action Daredevil series, where he was the central villain. Meanwhile, Schreiber voiced the character in Sony’s successful animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Kingpin was the primary antagonist in that project too, though there were other villains working under him.

Since Netflix cancelled its Marvel series, including Daredevil, many have wondered when the show’s characters may be rebooted for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kingpin is one such character, with Big Show (whose real name is Paul Wight) expressing interest in the role, should Marvel decide to remake Daredevil. Wight even went so far as to call himself a “shoe-in” for the part. Recently, D’Onofrio weighed in on the idea, joking, “I would not wrestle with him because I would lose that and then lose the character.” However, he quickly voiced his support for Wight going after the role.

Though Marvel is likely a ways away from rebooting its Daredevil characters, fan art by ApexForm imagines what it would like if Big Show played Kingpin. However, in this case, the image focuses on his adversarial relationship with Spider-Man rather than Daredevil. The art also wisely puts Kingpin front and center, so fans can get a good look at Big Show in the role. Spider-Man hovers above, prepared to strike. Check out the image below:

This art certainly makes a strong argument for Big Show playing Kingpin. He easily inhabits the character and makes for an imposing presence. The good news is the wrestler likely has years to convince Marvel he should be considered for the part. The Netflix series are still fresh in audiences’ minds, and the studio has its hands full with the deluge of new characters from its purchase of Fox.

It’s worth noting Big Show has a fair amount of acting experience, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that he could be cast as Kingpin, even in a Spider-Man movie. It’s easy to imagine the wrestler transitioning into a prolific acting career like the Rock or John Cena. The role of Kingpin could be the perfect thing to kick off that next chapter for Big Show.
