Daniel Radcliffe is imagined as a new Wolverine in a fantastic fan-made X-Men poster. The actor quickly cemented himself as a household name through his long run playing the titular character in the Harry Potter series. After spending over a decade of his life on the franchise, Radcliffe went on to act in independent movies, though Wolverine casting rumors have been following Radcliffe since 2019. The actor made a joke that he just can’t seem to shake about how he could play a size-accurate version of Wolverine, and though he went on to debunk the rumor, fans haven’t let go of the idea.

While Hugh Jackman definitely won over the hearts of audiences during his run as Wolverine from 2000-2017, he faced some pushback. The actor’s casting made his movie character 6’3″, whereas his comic book counterpart is much shorter, standing at 5’3″. While Radcliffe is still taller at roughly 5’5″, it’s in part because of his height that fans have clung to his casting so tightly.

Now, artist samuel_cheve shows on Instagram just how suited to the role Radcliffe is with a brilliant Wolverine X-Men fan poster. The English actor looks particularly grimy in a rugged hairstyle and beard, wearing the white tank-top popularly associated with Jackman’s Wolverine. Radcliffe’s image is surrounded by a vibrant yellow color, nodding to Wolverine’s iconic comic book costume. Everything about this spectacular design gets fans hyped about this Wolverine fan-cast. Radcliffe has been incredibly grateful as X-Men fans rally behind him, although the actor doesn’t necessarily share their enthusiasm. Despite continued support at the prospect of him playing Wolverine, he views himself as somewhat of a downgrade from Jackman. Many, like the above artist, would disagree, as fans still dream of what Radcliffe would be like as Wolverine. However, it seems less that Radcliffe is against the idea than he just believes that it would never come to fruition, and he has encouraged Marvel to prove him wrong.

Although there’s been no official announcement, fans have been excited about the potential of the X-Men’s MCU introduction since Disney finalized their takeover of 21st Century Fox. Marvel has teased fans with the possibility, with the partial return of Evan Peters’ Pietro in WandaVision and Patrick Stewart’s upcoming involvement in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. With so many new things happening with the X-Men, it seems more likely than ever that audiences will see Wolverine again, and it’s clear that fans already have their top pick for the recast.
