Marvel has remained quiet in terms of their plans to introduce the X-Men to the MCU. While they are joining eventually, there hasn’t been much news besides reports an X-related location could pop up on an upcoming Disney+ show. However, there’s been no confirmation on when popular X-Men characters will show up. Until then, enjoy this incredible fan art that reimagines the X-Men into the MCU.

Illustrator and comic artist Lucas Werneck created a series of images reimagining popular X-Men characters for the MCU. His incredible designs feature all-new twists on familiar X-costumes with some impressive attention to detail. While they’re all unique, there are elements (like X’s across the chest and elsewhere) that make them all connected as a team.

Here’s Werneck’s design for Jean Grey. The look strikes a perfect balance between Jean’s original look with touches of her Dark Phoenix ensemble. He’s seemed to model her appearance after actress Rebecca Ferguson.

Here’s the Wolverine redesign. The look features some yellow accents (like Wolverine’s original design). Some great touches include the X’s on Wolverine’s gloves, his cigar, as well as an eyebrow scar.

Perhaps Werneck’s most stunning design is his work on Storm that echoes her X-Men: The Animated Series look while bringing something completely new to the table. The white and gold costume is stunning. The accents are gorgeous.

Another jaw-dropping look is Werneck’s take on Emma Frost. The diamond shoulder is perfection.

Gambit looks very suave, as he keeps his classic trench coat but has a new suit and haircut. It’s a modern take on the Cajun card slinger, and we’re here for it. Losing his headgear works here.

Werneck’s redesign of Rogue is stellar. The color of her costume with a cropped leather jacket looks both cool and stylish. And, the way he designs her hair is a nice throwback to the X-Men: The Animated Series without looking silly.

His version of Colossus also looks sharp. Keeping the beard (seen in Astonishing X-Men) is a great choice that humanizes the character. The haircut looks sharp and the costume’s color scheme looks great.

All-in-all, the redesigns are pretty fantastic. The X-Men have seen many different looks on the big screen, but nothing that looks like what Werneck’s created. His blend of elements from the X-Men: The Animated Series mixed with new sleek uniforms would totally work in the MCU. His fan art is incredible. We recommend checking out Werneck’s Instagram and website to see more of his work. We’d definitely welcome these X-Men looks to the MCU.
