Few magic-users in the Marvel Universe possess the impressive powers of Magik and in a new cosplay, the X-Men hero is brought to life with a comic-accurate costume. The Queen of Limbo and her Soulsword shine in a great look from cosplayer @sparrowsess which recreates one of the heroine’s most iconic costumes in a fun and creative way. The look showcases one of the most underrated heroes in all of the Marvel Universe.

Ilyana Rasputin is an incredibly powerful sorceress who was raised in the Limbo dimension, where she further developed her mutant ability to teleport across dimensions. Magik would become the eventual ruler of Limbo, wielding a massive sword known as the Soulsword while changing her appearance to represent a more demonic entity. The sister of the X-Men’s Colossus, Rasputin would eventually join the New Mutants and become a vital member of the young mutant team. In current comics continuity, Magik has been officially named the Sorcerer Supreme of Limbo and is a potential candidate to take over the role of Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme with Doctor Strange’s recent death. Magik made her live-action debut in New Mutants, where actress Ana Taylor-Joy played her.

On her Instagram page, cosplayer @sparrowsess shared her take on one of the new Sorcerer Supreme of Limbo’s most iconic looks. The Chris Bachalo designed ensemble initially debuted in 2013 in an effort to introduce a more mature, grown-up version of the hero. @Sparrowsess brings the costume to life by including several key details, including Magik’s head crest, spiky left arm, and shoulder, as well as a black crop top. In addition, the look features Ilyana’s long blonde hair and her massive Soulsword by her side.

@sparrowsess shares even more snapshots of the Magik cosplay on her Instagram page while also showing off her takes on many Marvel Comics heroes, including Kitty Pryde and Lockheed, Spider-Woman and the X-Men’s Psylocke. The talented cosplayer also shares some MCU-related looks, including her version of Scarlet Witch from WandaVision and Thena from the recently released Eternals.

It’s great to see Magik embraced by the cosplay community, as it still feels like she’s a bit underrated among Marvel’s most powerful heroes. Hopefully, it won’t be long before the character makes their live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the hero could play a notable part in helping introduce the X-Men. Until that happens, enjoy the stunning Magik cosplay from @sparrowsess.
