The April 2022 lineup for Xbox Games with Gold includes the likes of Hue and MX vs ATV Alive, Xbox has confirmed. Games with Gold offerings typically fail to meet even the lowest expectations, which hardly comes as a surprise anymore. After all, the usually impressive Xbox Game Pass lineups receive much of the public’s attention. This month alone saw the critically acclaimed Tunic launch day-and-date on the platform, with Weird West scheduled to receive a similar day one release later this week.

Games with Gold is separate from Game Pass but serves as an added benefit for Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscribers. Most notably, the Gold program allows players to download a short list of hand-selected adventures each month at no extra cost. The March 2022 offerings featured four games in total worth a combined value of $89.96 and 4,000 in Gamerscore, for instance. Games with Gold members were, thus, given access to Xbox One experiences The Flame in the Flood and Street Power Soccer, alongside Xbox 36o titles Sacred 2: Fallen Angel and SpongeBob: Truth or Square. Needless to say, the latest Xbox Games with Gold freebies won’t generate much hype, either.

An Xbox Wire post confirms the four games coming to Xbox Games with Gold in April 2022. The Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S titles include surreal fantasy adventure Another Sight and puzzle platformer Hue, available from April 1 to April 30 and April 16 to May 15, respectively. Meanwhile, space station tycoon game Outpost Kaloki X and racing title MX vs ATV Alive round out next month’s Games with Gold freebies; the former hits the service from April 1 through April 15, while the latter will become available from April 16 to April 30. Altogether, these four experiences carry a value of $74.96 and 3,200 in Gamerscore.

They may not seem like much, but each of these Xbox Games with Gold experiences offers something special in their own right. Another Sight invites players to switch between a teenager and a cat as they navigate Victorian-era London. Hue places users in a world of gray that slowly regains color as they search high and low for their mother. Outpost Kaloki X allows entrepreneurial-minded folks to build an intergalactic tycoon empire. And, finally, MX vs ATV Alive hosts high-octane races across a wide variety of tracks boasting everything from muddy to snowy environments.

Games with Gold hasn’t been a focus for Microsoft’s gaming division for quite some time, thanks to the incredible success of Xbox Game Pass. At last count in January of this year, in fact, Game Pass had reached an astounding 25 million subscribers on console and PC. Those numbers will no doubt continue to grow as the service expands in the months and years ahead.
