Microsoft has revealed that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can claim one free month of Paramount+, just in time for the launch of the Halo TV series. This announcement is hot on the heels of the reveal that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate offers Marvel Ultimate access for three months, allowing fans to read digital versions of over 29,000 Marvel comics.

Xbox Game Pass has specific versions for consoles and PC. Those who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gain access to both versions of the service, as well as access to streaming for compatible games, and a subscription to Xbox Live Gold, which is necessary for playing games online. The subscribers to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also have regular access to perks, such as free skins for games, or free months of services like Disney+, Discord Nitro, and Spotify. The service also provides a number of day-one releases for new games, such as Xbox Game Pass adding the highly-acclaimed Tunic on launch day. The latest Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perk is going to be especially inviting to fans of the Halo franchise.

A new trailer on the official Xbox YouTube channel has announced that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can claim one free month of the Paramount+ streaming service, starting from today. This timing lines up with the launch of the Halo TV series, as the first episode will launch on March 24th. The Halo TV show will be broadcast weekly, so the run of the show will extend beyond the free period. The offer can be claimed until May 23, 2022.

As was the case with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Disney+ deal, the Paramount+ offer can only be claimed on a new account and the subscriber needs a credit card. Signing up for this deal will switch on auto-renewal for a monthly subscription, so those who aren’t interested in staying with Paramount+ should remember to switch off auto-renewal once they are signed up. Paramount+ is currently only available in specific regions, such as Australia, Canada, and the United States of America. The service is not available in most parts of Europe, so most fans in that region won’t be able to claim this deal.

It makes sense to offer a Paramount+ subscription to Xbox fans, considering that they will be the demographic that is most interested in the Halo TV series. Halo Infinite‘s popularity has brought in new fans and taken the series in a fresh direction, so there are lots of people who be interested in seeing a new version of Master Chief in live-action in the Halo TV show, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives them a chance to do so for no extra cost.
