Target stores in the U.S. have begun selling the Xbox Series X fridge, even though it’s not set to launch until next month. The mini-fridge started as a joke not long after Microsoft unveiled the fridge-like Series X last year. Evidently, the hardware manufacturer chose to take the meme to a new and unexpected level by opening pre-orders for the Xbox mini-fridge this past October.

Upon announcing the $99 price tag, Microsoft told potential customers to expect the compact item to release in the U.S., the UK, and European regions in December. It seems a few Target locations in the States have received and unleashed their stock early, though, given that Twitter user Index spotted a stack of Xbox Series X fridges in the wild this morning. Voice actor Michael Kovach received a pre-ordered fridge last Friday, though it’s unknown from which retailer he secured the order. As noted by VGC, the sold-out Xbox mini-fridge is no longer available to order via Target’s website; however, a fresh batch of pre-orders on GAME’s online storefront means UK-based Xbox fans have another chance at nabbing one.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

When pre-oders opened in October, Target sold out of the Xbox mini-fridge in only a matter of minutes. Who could’ve imagined a tiny Xbox replica refrigerator would garner so much excitement? Hopefully, those who miss out will eventually have a chance to secure one of the products for themselves.

The Xbox Series X fridge’s planned launch is set for December 2021.
