Everything about Netflix’s You drew audiences in — Joe’s sweetness mixed with his innate cruelty, the stalking, the beautiful but mysterious women, the locations, and even the clothes. The Penn Badgley-starring dark drama revolved around Joe Goldberg’s murderous love and his terrible deeds, but every single character on the show was awfully well-dressed.

From Love’s polished looks to Peach’s ultra-glam outfits, You had wardrobes that made people pause. Outfitted by costume designers Kiersten Hargroder, Danielle Launzel, Donna Maloney, and Samantha Schwartz, You had a vibrant and distinct outfit selection from its characters. Even the stars brought in their own clothes, Shay Mitchell’s outfits were almost all of her own.

Love’s Outdoor Florals

Besides being one of the smartest characters on You, Love was also the best dressed one. Her style changed a fair bit from her fluid LA fashion in Madre Linda, but it was for the better.

This Spring season outfit was absolutely stunning — the mossy green babydoll top with bishop sleeves fit her like a glove, and the contrasting blue floral skirt with verdant accents pulled the whole look together. This was a great outfit to seduce her own husband as well as the teen next door for Love.

Joe’s Denim On Denim

Joe was convoluted, with audiences hating him but feeling bad for him at the same time, but there were some rare occasions when he got his clothes right, at least. The book-lover slash murderer was no sartorialist, but he pulled an unintentionally polished denim on denim look with this sophisticated denim coat and jeans look.

The inner blue t-shirt made his ensemble a tone-on-tone delight, and the complementary brown boots and belt were great finishing touches to it. This was probably his secret to attracting so many great women to himself.

Love’s Camel Cardigan

Love looked her best when she was at her most dangerous point in You — about to end Joe’s life and possibly even Marienne’s. This camel cardigan look went viral on the internet because of how stunning she looked in it.

Uncomplicated and fuss-free, the gold buttoned piece had a plunging neckline which was complemented by a long chain and gold hoops. A simple pair of well-fitted jeans and side-swept bangs were the final flourishes on a very well-put-together outfit.

Peach’s All Black Everything

Shay Mitchell performed the role of the obsessive and lethal Peach perfectly and had a killer closet to boot. Almost everything she wore was gorgeous, but this black-on-black look took the cake. Peach looked like the perfect spy with her ebony beret, leather gloves, and coat.

Of course, being Peach she couldn’t resist some bling, so her trench coat was glistening patent leather, her gloves had silver rivets, and her ears were heavy with the weight of diamond studs.

Love’s White Off-Shoulder Blouse

Love became the queen of the “jeans and a nice top” formula with her elegant outfit choices in season 3 of You. As she settled into the town, one of her standout ensembles was this cropped off-shoulder blouse in white, which was a Love signature color, and a great pair of jeans.

A fan of minimalist jewelry, she accessorized with layered gold chains and fine gold wired earrings to match. Her usual open hair was pulled back to highlight her accessories and the beautiful neckline of the blouse which suited her to the tee.

Beck’s Off-Duty Biker Chic

Guinevere Beck was a broke college student and a starving writer, so her outfits weren’t always remarkable but she utilized her staples well. This casual look she wore to meet her dad was versatile and well balanced — the skinny jeans and blue shirt were casual, but the military green biker jacket and boots added some polish to the look.

A chunky belt made the outfit more her style, while the minimal jewelry with a natural makeup look made it a great daytime outfit that could be transitioned to the evening too.

Joe’s Suburban Dad Sweater

Marrying Love and moving to Madre Linda transformed Joe’s wardrobe. Whether it was because of some extra money or just wanting to fit in with the other fathers of the suburb, he started wearing a dapper combination of solid sweaters with chinos and loafers or boat shoes, which looked pretty suave on Penn.

This particular fusion of grey with khaki pants was exceptional, and the fit of the sweater and pants made all the difference. It was pretty great to see Joe out his usual ratty shirt and pant uniform and switch it up.

Peach’s Cheetah Shirt

Being the richest character on You meant that Peach had to look the part, which she did effortlessly in this animal print fit. The silky cheetah print shirt looks expensive and not tacky, especially because the other accessories were kept muted to let it do all the talking.

A discreet black YSL bag, black and gold round shades, and slightly weathered jeans completed the fabulous look. Don’t miss the tiny, elegant gold watch which is the only piece of jewelry on her.

Beck’s Satin Bomber

Joe’s first lover on the show kept her looks easy, effortless, and smart. This bomber jacket outfit looks very much like it was just thrown on, but it still looks good because of the shiny satin and its pretty pink color.

A nondescript black top provided an inner layer that let the sporty jacket pop, and some chunky bracelets added some character to the otherwise plain ensemble. Beck nailed New Yorker style with this one.

Joe’s Blue On Blue Sweater Look

Blue seemed to be a preferred color for Joe Goldberg, but it’s not clear whether that was intentional. In another remarkable tonal look, he paired a blue sweater tucked into blue chinos, and a brown leather belt to cinch it all in. The texture of the sweater provided a nice relief from the sea of blue, and Joe looked very much like the dads of Madre Linda.

Joe dressed a lot like this when he had to go for therapist sessions and meet others in the suburb, which could possibly mean that he was trying his best to blend in and look like he was a part of the normal crowd.
