Samsung has announced NFT support for its smart television lineup that will be released later this year. It’s not been a week since 2022 began and Samsung has already announced a bunch of new products. For instance, Samsung recently revealed the Galaxy S21 FE. The Fan Edition smartphone came as a successor to the Galaxy S20 FE launched in 2020. Additionally, Samsung has also announced three new gaming monitors.

Samsung also supports innovative products through its venture called the Creative Labs which has come up with quite a few products and ideas this year, including a smart guitar called ZamStar and a smart speaker that directs audio towards the listener. These products are showcased at CES 2022 in Las Vegas. However, whether they will manage to enter the mainstream consumer electronics market is yet to be seen.

Through a press release, Samsung has revealed that its 2022 TV lineup will support NFTs. Samsung has considered the rise in popularity and demand for NFTs while incorporating native support for browsing, purchasing, and displaying NFTs on their televisions. Samsung is the first company in the world to develop televisions capable of showcasing NFTs. Without complicating it, the Samsung televisions will provide a platform for those interested to browse digital artworks. Those who own an NFT collection and wish to showcase it will also be able to do it on the Samsung 2022 TV lineup.

Samsung 2022 TVs will feature screen calibration for viewing NFTs

It is not just a random feature that Samsung has added into its lineup of smart televisions. It seems like the South Korean company has thought this through. Samsung Micro LED, New QLED, and The Frame lineup for 2022 will also come with a screen calibration mechanism that will adjust the display settings according to the NFT being viewed. Additionally, Samsung has also developed an NFT marketplace aggregator which will enable users to preview a non-fungible token before purchasing it and learning about its blockchain metadata,  like a TV-screen-based NFT explorer.

The recent growth in the popularity of NFTs is undeniable. Apparently, the NFT trading volumes in the third quarter of 2021 have crossed $10 billion, which is a whopping 38,000% yearly growth. Companies around the world such as OnePlus, Nike, Coca-Cola are turning their heads towards the NFT marketplace.
