Young Sheldon‘s 100th episode promo clip reveals McKenna Grace’s return as Paige Swanson. After a two-week season 5 hiatus due to the NCAA’s March Madness, The Big Bang Theory spinoff is finally back in a few more days. The new outing also marks a major milestone for Young Sheldon, and for it, CBS is bringing back Sheldon’s fellow prodigy and one-time crush.

Paige was introduced in Young Sheldon season 2 and has been a frequent guest star since then. The pair’s relationship has been complicated thus far, primarily because of Sheldon’s competitive side. He can’t accept the fact that someone is equal to, if not better than, him in terms of intellect. What makes this worse is that Paige seems to be better socially adjusted than he is. That’s until her parents split up, resulting in her rebellion. Now, she returns as the Young Sheldon 100th episode’s guest star, and based on the upcoming episode’s official synopsis, she has an odd favor to ask from Sheldon.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY

Days ahead of Young Sheldon season 5 episode 17’s premiere, the SpoilerTV YouTube channel shares a promotional clip for the outing, titled “A Solo Peanut, a Social Butterfly and the Truth.” In it, Paige and Sheldon appear to reunite at East Texas Tech as she visits him in his dorm. Their exchange is awkward; unfortunately, the video doesn’t reveal what her request is. Watch the clip below:

Young Sheldon‘s Paige looks more mature in her upcoming 100th episode appearance, and it seems like she has also gotten past her rebellious stage. Now, she just looks sad, which is worrying. It’s unclear if Sheldon will sense this, considering his poor social skills, but despite their last interaction, in which Paige baited Sheldon into a kiss, it seems like her attempt to reach out is genuine. Perhaps she thinks that, because Sheldon is a genius like her, he can help her navigate this difficult time. It will be interesting to see what Sheldon’s response will be after learning about Paige’s odd favor, but the fact that he even let her in his dorm room is a positive sign.

Young Sheldon‘s 100th episode will have a show-shifting incident that will change the narrative trajectory of the show moving forward. Aside from Paige and Sheldon’s plotline, the episode will also see Georgie (Montana Jordan) coming clean about his real age to his girlfriend, Mandy (Emily Osment). Finally, Meemaw (Annie Potts) and Dale’s (Craig T. Nelson) breakup will put George (Lance Barber) and Mary (Zoe Perry) in an awkward position. It’s unclear which of these storylines will have lasting ramifications on the show, but, chances are, it’s the last one – especially as The Big Bang Theory spin0ff starts setting up George’s dark arc.

Young Sheldon season 5 airs Thursdays on CBS.
