There are a lot of moments in nearly every Zelda game that makes gamers pause and think, “This is fine, everything is fine,” when things are most definitely not fine. The original “This is fine” meme features a dog with its house on fire in the background and it became an internet sensation for anyone who was feeling like things are out of control but they were just going to have to take a moment to let everything be on fire.

Zelda games from the most recent Hyrule Warriors and Age of Calamity to the very first The Legend of Zelda have different levels of enemies and bosses gamers will encounter. The biggest appeal of the games is that they are open-world with a lot of side quests and abilities to master before taking on big bosses. Sometimes mastering those skills isn’t always a walk in the park. While not all of these are exactly-related to the original “This Is Fine” meme, a few of these memes nail the same feeling.

10 Link Is Fine

This meme is the most accurate representation of how chaotic Breath Of The Wild can get. It is also very staged but in the best way.

The classic “This is fine” meme can be recreated in a Zelda game simply by setting up multiple campfires around Link. It helps if the gamer sets the stage in a wooden house where other things are also likely to catch on fire, for accuracy of course.

9 Bear on fire

Aside from being able to ride horses, Link can also ride other animals. One of the funniest animals he can ride is a bear, which is often not a great idea.

Sometimes the bear is what is chasing them and flaming arrows can be helpful. Flaming arrows can also apparently be the downfall of the gamer, the bear, and the forest. Don’t worry, the forest will regenerate when the game restarts.

8 Age Of Calamity Has No Chill

Age Of Calamity happens to be a Zelda game where players can fight overwhelming amounts of enemies. While characters are able to dish out a lot of damage against these enemies, the countless obstacles in the way can get pretty hectic. Flaming mechanical guardian legs are the epitome of feeling like things are out of control.

7 Mods Are Fine

Mods are quite literally modifications users can make to their games either through a mod package they purchase or of their own creation. Typically, mods are funny or challenging, or helpful.

Thomas the Train in place of a horse, Spongebob Squarepants as a shield, and the Minecraft sword, all donned by Goku from Dragon Ball, seems like a lot of not-so-useful mods and a lot of ‘this is fine’ energy.

6 Ganondorf Is Fine

Ganondorf has had many different animation styles throughout The Legend of Zelda series. This depiction of Ganondorf is from the game Wind Waker. According to Ancient Sage, he has been known as the demon thief and a ruthless evil-magic wielder.

Ganondorf is the epitome of “this is fine” with how often he has to fight the same Hyrule champion, Link, but also that he has a tendency to be surrounded by fire in and out of his domains.

5 Lynel Fire

Lynels are centaur-like beasts and are resilient, strong, and agile, and they’re no joke. When gamers just do the easy playthrough to get to know the game, Lynels are still not an easy challenge until you’ve built up your gear and abilities.

In the easiest mode in Breath of the Wild, it takes some time before encountering the first Lynel but in master mode, one appears almost immediately and does not like it when he is nearly outwitted.

4 Intense Music

Gamers can always tell when something scary or hard-to-fight is coming because the music gets more nerve-racking and fast-paced.

This combination of a Guardian just appearing and the original “This is fine” meme is the perfect representation of that feeling.

3 Bokoblins Burned Campsite

Bokoblins are a common enemy in The Legend of Zelda series ranging in color and pattern, typically with giant ears and sporting clubs or bow and arrows.

They don’t seem too bothered by fire considering they have a tendency to light their weapons on fire to shoot Link and are usually surrounded by explosive barrels. But when they are not the cause of the fire and suddenly their whole campsite is burned down they likely gain a sense of, “this is fine.”

2 Spongebob-Zelda Crossover

Spongebob Squarepants is no stranger to anxiously smiling through chaos; So it would make sense that the same feelings gamers get in Zelda are also seen in SpongeBob characters’ facial expressions.

This fish is often caught in situations he never thought he’d be in, including his backpack on fire underwater. Just like gamers probably didn’t expect to so easily catch on fire on the way to Goron City.

1 Korok Fire

Koroks are tiny wooden peoples/sentient seeds that wear leaf masks and are very beneficial when found.

Unfortunately, sometimes when a gamer stumbles upon a Korok Seed it is surrounded by a puzzle or a challenge. This one required the thorns to be burned to reach the Korok and this meme was the result.
