A Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player has found a creative yet simple way to get their horse into Zora’s Domain, an area of the Nintendo hit that doesn’t typically allow horses. First released in 2017, many Breath of the Wild exploits and tricks have been discovered over the years, whether they be useful for helping speedrunners or just interesting for testing the game’s capabilities.

Despite being one of the biggest games in the Zelda series and offering the most player freedom, Nintendo still envisioned some limits for Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Multiple locations in the game don’t allow the use of horses as a means of transport, including the Gerudo Wasteland. Also known as the Gerudo Desert, BOTW replaces travelling by horseback with travel by Sand Seals, stopping players’ horses from struggling against the sandy landscape and varying weather. Horses similarly aren’t allowed in Zora’s Domain, though just as BOTW players have exploited horses into Gerudo Desert, similar tricks have been found for Zora’s Domain.

Sharing a video of the BOTW horse solution to Reddit, schartzmuggle has revealed how they managed to get their trusty steed into Zora’s Domain. The clever trick involves strategically placing a rock, secured with the Stasis ability, to create a platform for the horse to climb over to gain entrance to the area. The innovative use of the rune has seen a lot of appreciation from other Redditors, with the post receiving more than 5,000 upvotes and lots of comments celebrating the simple yet clever strategy.

While this isn’t the first time a player has gotten a horse into Zora’s Domain, it’s possibly the simplest way to make it happen. Previous BOTW horse glitches have seen players use Stasis on felled trees to encourage their steed across the rough waters surrounding the area, something which is hard to do due to the thin nature of the trees. Fans have also used exploits to glitch their horse into the skies above Zora’s Domain by inching it through the surrounding rocky cliffs, then riding it through the sky to reach the location. While all of these methods have been proven to work, they’re considerably more tricky to master than schartzmuggle’s easy and innovative solution.

Thanks to Zelda: Breath of the Wild‘s large open-world and range of tools and features, there are countless game glitches, tricks, and exploits that have already been found. Despite this – and the game’s age – players are still uncovering new ways to explore the game’s vast world, whether it be finding creative ways to bring down enemies, or even finding hidden BOTW dialogue. As one of the most limitless games on Nintendo Switch, more secrets could still waiting to be discovered.
