Zelda: Breath of the Wild Meat & Spear Build Is Surprisingly Effective

A recent Reddit post shows a Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild player cleverly defeating Bokoblins with the combination of Elemental Spears and Raw Meat. Zelda: BotW has been one of Nintendo’s best-selling titles to date and thanks to such an enormous fan base and the game’s sandbox-style of play the game has spawned a diverse lineup of fun strategies, tactics, tricks, and even glitches that can be taken advantage of to enhance the player’s experience.

Even after having been released nearly 5 years ago, many players are still finding new ways to utilize the various items, weapons, and landscapes that its vast open world has to offer. Some of these items, like Raw Meat, are easily obtainable and can be found throughout Hyrule. Others, like the Elemental Spear weapons, take quite a bit more time and effort to earn as the player journeys through the game.

A recently posted video shows off Redditor Jermaras’s new techniques for taking down the BotW enemy Bokoblins.  As shown in the video Jermaras uses the unique properties of the elemental spears in concert with the Raw Meat’s luring capabilities to wittily damage or destroy opposing enemies.  In one instance the player uses the Flamespear to ignite the Raw Meat from atop a mountain peak sending it tumbling down to land on the enemy.  In another, they use the electrical properties of the Thunderspear to set a trap for the Bokoblin after luring him in with the Raw Meat.

The ability to invent clever and crafty techniques like these is no doubt a big part of what has made Zelda: BotW such a popular and successful entry to the long-running series even so long after its release.  Many players like Jermaras and the rest of the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild community can continue to have fun coming up with and sharing new ways to play and enjoy themselves thanks to the rich world provided by the developers.

With much anticipation building for the release of The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2, since its reveal trailer at E3 2021, it will be interesting to find out what kind of new and innovative game mechanics the developers decide to bring to the table with the next installment.  Hopefully, interesting posts and videos from players like Jermaras and others will help to give developers a hint at some of the things that are keeping players hooked for so long.  Although no official release date has been announced yet, Nintendo has stated it aims to release the Breath of the Wild sequel sometime in 2022.
