Healer is a K-Drama that heavily focuses on a past case that ends up linking very unlikely people together. Healer is a special kind of night courier who can get any of his clients pretty much whatever they want. He ends up getting a job to protect Chae Young Shin, a second rate internet reporter. He is hired by Kim Moon Ho, a big-time star journalist who has many regrets about a case he didn’t fully look into years prior that is now linking the three together.

Healer, Seo Jung-ho, is an excellent fighter and acts as a sort of bodyguard for Young Shin who is being threatened by the people from her past. Slowly, a romance builds between these two characters as the mystery around the past begins to unfold.

10 Pinocchio

Pinocchio is a perfect K-Drama for any fan of Healer to watch. This story is a lot more lighthearted and romantic by comparison but also heavily focuses on reporters trying to find the truth of a past case. The main two characters in this story have grown up with one another after the male lead’s family was destroyed due to a famous reporter twisting the story of his father’s death. That report ends up being the female lead’s mother which causes great turmoil between the two characters as they also happen to be in the process of falling in love with one another.

9 Fight For My Way

While Fight for My Way is a K-Drama that has more to do with an average life and accomplishing your dreams than it does with crime and suspense, this drama is all about fighting. The lead male dreams of becoming a famous mixed martial arts fighter and often showcases his incredible skills throughout the drama. He resembles the lead character in Healer because of this as the two shows have some incredible action scenes.

8 Strong Woman Do Bong Soon

Strong Woman Do Bong Soon has a bit of a role reversal. Instead of the male lead protecting the female lead, this drama has Do Bong Soon hired on to become the bodyguard for the CEO of a popular gaming company, An Min Hyuk.

This drama has a lot more comedy and probably aligns more as a rom-com than a thriller, with Bong Soon’s super strength and Min Hyuk’s total adoration over her. However, this K-Drama has a pretty heavy subplot of a masked serial killer kidnapping and murdering women in Bong Soon’s area. The thriller elements of this series are incredibly reminiscent of the overall theme and aesthetic of Healer.

7 K2

K2 has the same male lead as Healer and actually has the actor performing in a pretty similar role once again. In K2, he is accused of murder but ends up becoming the bodyguard to someone who notices his talents. Like with Healer as well, K2 is named after the codename in which the main takes on, and once again K2 finds himself falling in love with the young woman he is tasked to protect.

6 Signal

A detective and a cold case profiler from two very different times are able to communicate with one another through a mysterious walkie-talkie. The two end up not only solving crimes, but also aid in preventing them from ever happening. The themes in this series and the dark, gritty realness of police work are incredibly reminiscent of the aesthetic and investigation within Healer. While this drama isn’t focused on any kind of romance, it would be perfect for anyone who enjoyed the thriller side to Healer.

5 Are You Human Too?

In Are You Human Too? a robot is created in the spitting image of the developer’s biological son who is arrogant and would really have nothing to do with her if he could. The robot may look exactly like him, but their personalities couldn’t be more different. The female lead in this story is hired to become the robot’s bodyguard, to make sure he is acting as human as possible and getting away with the body swap of his human counterpart. This drama shares a lot with Healer in themes and romance alike.

4 Crash Landing On You

While Crash Landing On You is a Netflix Original that is more focused on the romance between the South Korean heiress and the North Korean military officer, it does have a striking resemblance to the romance in Healer and the overall show itself.

The romance is a slow build as the two fall in love with one another as the military officer protects the heiress from harm, hiding her away so she cannot be found out. This drama gets pretty intense, and though there isn’t really any suspense in the typical kind of way, it will leave viewers anticipating what will happen next.

3 City Hunter

City Hunter is actually based on a Japanese manga series with the same name and is incredibly similar to Healer. It’s the same reoccurring story of bodyguard falls in love with the woman he is assigned to protect, while a bunch of other drama is happening around them that continuously threatens their lives. City Hunter is the code name of the male lead in this series as he tries to get revenge on the person who killed his father while also protecting the woman he has come to love.

2 Cheese In The Trap

Cheese in the Trap isn’t nearly as dramatic as Healer and is slimmed down to the thrills of living as a college student. This drama, based on a webtoon of the same name, focuses on Hong Seol, a young college student who is trying to balance her studies and her part-time job in order to support herself. Her life gets even messier when she catches the eyes of a student who hides behind a smile, living a double life. One in which he is the handsome and kind upperclassman, and another where he enjoys manipulating people and has a pretty intense dark side.

1 While You Were Sleeping

This drama focuses on the slow-building relationship between two people whose lives get intertwined with one another. This drama has a pretty big supernatural element to it as the main characters all develop an ability to have premonitions as they dream. This drama is like Healer in the sense that the main three characters’ lives get intertwined with one another while trying to uncover mysteries of the visions they are having.
