The Good Place wrapped up in 2020, with a slew of nominations and awards (including nominations for the Golden Globes and the Primetime Emmys), and fans still miss Eleanor and her afterlife adventures in ethics. Over just four seasons, fans became completely invested in Eleanor, Chidi, Jason, and Tahani, rooting for them to find the real Good Place – and figure out why they weren’t there in the first place!

Now that the series is over, though, what are the stars going to be doing next? Some of these actors are so prolific that they have multiple projects in the works, as well as various major roles that they took on during the span of The Good Place. Others, though, may be turning their talents to just one new thing, or even taking a break… Here’s where fans can see their favorites next.

10 Tiya Sircar – Star Wars & The Fugitive

Tiya Sircar appears in The Good Place as one of the torturers – although fans don’t realize this at first, as she’s acting as ‘The Real Eleanor’ to begin with. While appearing in The Good Place, Sircar was also one of the leads of Alex, Inc, a single-season workplace comedy also starring Zach Braff as a 30-something starting a business. She also appears as the voice of Sabine Wren in the animated Star Wars universe (in both Star Wars: Rebels and Star Wars: Forces Of Destiny) which means that she will likely appear again in this universe, given the sheer volume of new series Disney + is creating. Sircar also appears in the TV series The Fugitive, and has one upcoming project: Guilty Party, a dark comedy that is currently in early development.

9 Maya Rudolph – Big Mouth & Luca

Maya Rudolph is a comedy powerhouse, who appeared in The Good Place for the final seasons, as the Judge. She may have had a slightly smaller role in the series, but as usual, she stole every scene she was in. While working on The Good Place, Rudolph was involved in a huge number of other projects, many of them being voice acting work (and of course, her work on Saturday Night Live). Most recently, she has been in Big Mouth as Connie the Hormone Monstress, and in Bless the Harts as Bety Hart (among other characters). Rudolph also has two upcoming animated movies: The Mitchells Vs The Machines, a movie about a family road trip and a robot apocalypse (set for an April 30th release), and Disney/Pixar’s Luca, a film about a young Italian boy who develops a friendship with a sea monster (June 18).

8 Jason Mantzoukas – Big Mouth, & Housebroken

Another brilliant comedic actor who does a lot of voice work, Jason Mantzoukas appears in The Good Place as Derek – a being created by Janet as a romantic partner. The actor appears alongside Maya Rudolph in Big Mouth, as Jay Blizeran, and is working on multiple other animated series, as well as having a recurring role in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Mantzoukas is involved in Close Enough (an adult animated series about the transition from 20s to 30s, launched in 2020), Invincible (an adult animation about the son of a superhero, launched in 2021), the remake of DuckTales (first aired in 2020), American Dad, and the upcoming Housebroken (about a dog running group therapy for neighborhood pets, coming May 2021).

7 Marc Evan Jackson – Queenpins & Scroll Wheel Of Time

Marc Evan Jackson is Michael’s Bad Place boss in The Good Place, and brings his inimitable dry comedy style to the role. Like most of this cast, the actor has been in a huge number of projects in recent years, including appearing alongside his Good Place co-stars in American Dad, DuckTales, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

For 2021 and beyond, he can be seen in the kid’s movie Finding ‘Ohana, about a treasure map that leads two New York teens to their Hawaiian roots. He will also be appearing in Queenpins (a comedy about housewives and a coupon scam, currently in post-production) and Scroll Wheel Of Time (a series about an iPod that allows the user to time travel, currently filming).

6 Manny Jacinto – Top Gun: Maverick & Nine Perfect Strangers

Manny Jacinto’s role as Jason Mendoza shot him to fame, and everyone loved the ditzy Floridian with a truly good heart. Now, the actor has several major projects in the works, including film and TV series. Jacinto will be appearing in Top Gun: Maverick, the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 classic, although his role in it has not yet been revealed (coming out in July). He will also be appearing as Yao in the star-studded mini-series Nine Perfect Strangers, about nine people from different worlds coming together for a wellness retreat (currently in post-production), and in Brand New Cherry Flavor, a supernatural horror series from Netflix. Finally, he is currently filming rom-com I Want You Back, with no release date as yet.

5 Jameela Jamil – The Statistical Probability Of Love At First Sight

Jameela Jamil was probably the hardest character to like at the start of The Good Place, as the insufferably snobbish Tahani, who was constantly name-dropping her celebrity connections. By the end of the series, though, fans loved her as much as anyone else on the show. Jamil herself doesn’t have quite as many projects in the works as most of her co-stars, although she does appear alongside some of them in the DuckTales reboot. Her only upcoming project is The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight, a romantic movie based on the book of the same name, where Jamil will be the narrator.

4 William Jackson Harper – We Broke Up & The Underground Railroad

William Jackson Harper won Good Place fans’ hearts as Chidi Anagonye, an ethics professor who was utterly incapable of making a decision. His relationship with Eleanor was the heart of the series in many ways, and Harper’s portrayal of Chidi was impeccable.

Since the show began, he has been in several high-profile projects, including in Midsommar and the Jack Ryan series, as well as doing some voice acting on American Dad, like many other Good Place stars. In 2021, fans can catch Harper in two upcoming projects: We Broke Up (a comedy about a couple who break up, but keep up appearances of a relationship for a family wedding, set for release April 23) and The Underground Railroad (an amazon original series, premiering May 14).

3 Kristen Bell – Queenpins, Gossip Girl & Molly And The Moon

Kristen Bell has a whopping 26 credits to her name in the time since The Good Place first started airing, not including her five upcoming projects – so there is no doubt that she is keeping incredibly busy! As well as her starring role as relatably terrible Eleanor in The Good Place, she has continued her work in the Frozen franchise as Anna, in Veronica Mars as the title character, and as Molly Tillerman in the animated Central Park, among other projects. She has a range of new projects in the works, too, from the family-focused Do, Re & Mi (a series about songs and three bird best friends), to the Gossip Girl reboot, to Queenpins (alongside Marc Evan Jackson). Bell is also set to star in Molly And The Moon, an original musical film.

2 D’Arcy Carden – Shotgun Wedding & A League Of Their Own

D’Arcy Carden stole the show as Janet, a representation of all information in the universe – and her counterpart, Bad Janet. And occasionally, the rest of the characters when they look like Janet. Her role is brilliantly funny and a true original, and fans may well miss Janet the most. However, fans can see Caden in two upcoming projects: A League Of Their Own (a series following the story of the WWII All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, set for release later this year) and Shotgun Wedding (a rom com about a wedding crashed by criminals, currently filming).

1 Ted Danson – Mr Mayor

The Architect of The Good Place, hero, villain, and so much more, Michael is the one that The Good Place wouldn’t exist without, played by the incomparable Ted Danson. In recent years, Danson has appeared in American Dad, The Orville, and Curb Your Enthusiasm while on The Good Place, and currently only has one project in the works. He stars in Mr. Mayor, a series about a businessman who runs for Mayor of LA – and surprisingly enough, wins. Once in the role, he has to learn all kinds of hilarious (and heartwarming) lessons about himself and his relationship with his daughter. The first season premiered at the start of 2021.
