Animal Crossing Players Can Visit With Joe Biden On His Own Island

Presidential Candidate Joe Biden is once again attempting to reach the younger voting population through the wholesome world of Animal Crossing, and this time Biden has his own island players can visit. With only 18 days left before the U.S. Presidential Election, Joe Biden’s campaign team is pulling out all the stops including the virtual Biden HQ in Animal Crossing.

This isn’t Biden’s first attempt to reach young voters online, or even the first to use Animal Crossing. In early September, Biden’s campaign team launched a series of in-game yard signs for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players. The signs came in four different designs and could be downloaded via QR codes. Players could then place the signs around their island to show their support for the Democratic presidential candidate. Biden also launched the official VoteJoe Twitch channel.

Now, Joe Biden’s team has put together a rather impressive Animal Crossing: New Horizons island, which players can visit via the game’s Dream Island function. Biden HQ can be visited using the Dream code DA-7286-5710-7478. The island features various memes from Biden’s campaign including trains, ice cream, and aviators. There is a polling place decorated with voting booths and advertising ways young people can get involved in this year’s election. There are also the aforementioned yard signs strewn all over the island, and players can visit Joe’s custom design portal to download their very own Joe Biden merch. For those who don’t own a Nintendo Switch or a copy of Animal Crossing, a virtual tour of Biden HQ was held by Twitch streamers KindaFunnyGames.

In addition to the very Joe Biden aesthetic, the island itself is very well designed. Even the buildings players can enter are decorated very nicely, and it’s obvious that someone who is a big fan of both Joe and Animal Crossing played a role in making this island a reality. Perhaps the best part of the island is Joe Biden himself (in Animal Crossing form) can be found strolling the street of Biden HQ. If players are lucky, Biden might stand still long enough to snap a selfie with him.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold 22 million copies worldwide, so hopefully Biden’s AC campaign is worth the effort. The younger population of United States citizens are notorious for their poor voter turnout. If anything can be said for Biden’s campaign, he is getting very creative with his attempts to reach young voters. While politicians have largely been stepping up their game when it comes to using the internet as a platform in the past few years, Joe Biden is the first presidential candidate to use Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a campaign tool.
