On Bachelor In Paradise, Brendan Morais is in hot water after word that he was already dating Pieper James from Matt James’ season of The Bachelor broke on the beach. Though Pieper hasn’t even arrived, fans and the BIP season 7 cast have caught word about the pair’s off-screen trysts, and many are wondering about the details of that alleged relationship.

Brendan arrived to BIP on day one and it quickly became clear that he was going to be a hot commodity on the beach. Many women expressed interest in meeting him, and he scored one of the first dates of the season with Demi Burnett. However, things between those two quickly soured after Brendan made it clear he wanted to keep his options open.

Ultimately, Brendan gave his rose to Natasha Parker from Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor. After the first rose ceremony, rumors began to spread about his relationship with Pieper, but the timeline was unclear.

August 2020

On Tayshia Adams’ season of The Bachelorette, Brendan emerged as an early frontrunner. He and Tayshia quickly bonded over their previous divorces. However, the pressure of a looming engagement became too much for Brendan, and on their overnight date, he sent himself home. After leaving the show – which occurred roughly in August of last year – Brendan said he wouldn’t consider being The Bachelor because he needed time to work on himself.

November 2020

Pieper also made it far on her season of The Bachelor, though not quite as far as Brendan. She and Matt had obvious chemistry and bonded over many things, including the cute coincidence of their shared last names. But as the season progressed, it became clear that Matt had stronger relationships with other women, and Pieper was sent home in week 7 just before hometowns, which was in November of last year. At that time, both Pieper and Brendan were presumably single.

Earlier this year, an insider revealed Brendan and Pieper had started dating. “They’re keeping their relationship under wraps since they’re trying to make it work long-distance and it’s still new,Us Weekly reported. “They both are super into each other and are getting to know each other and are just having fun going on dates.” The source said the two had been dating for a few weeks and even spent Memorial Day weekend together. They reportedly met because they run in the same Bachelor Nation circles.

The two Bachelor in Paradise stars haven’t confirmed their relationship, but the rumor alone was enough to stun the rest of the cast. Many fans have complained that BIP has gone downhill since contestants have started speaking to each other and hooking up outside the show, and this is a perfect example. Brendan and Pieper may be perfect for each other, but Brendan’s feigned interest in Natasha until Pieper shows up is insulting to Natasha and the viewers. If their budding romance is going that well, they had no business coming to Paradise.
