Taylor Swift might just be one of the most talented and impressive musicians today, and that certainly includes being able to release two surprise albums in one year – and still having everyone stream them over and over again. Of course, Swift has been famous for literally decades, and every album has a new sound.

Die-hard Swifties will love them all, but there are definitely some that stand out among the others. With “Evermore” just released, there are now enough albums to really give them a good ranking – based on what people from Reddit have ultimately decided.

9 Worst: Taylor Swift: Debut (2006)

This is pretty much a consensus amongst Reddit Swifties, and it’s nothing against Taylor Swift. It’s clearly the reason she’s famous, but fans have definitely agreed to love it for its worth and lay it aside.

For most, it  “isn’t the most mature but I love it because I basically grew up to it as an angsty preteen and I love the scrapbooky feel of all the songs”. It’s nostalgic, but Swift was also young when she released it – and she’s grown a lot since then (and so have her fans).

8 Fearless (2008)

It’s hard to really be a Taylor Swift fan without listening back and appreciating every song on ‘Fearless’. She wouldn’t be where she is without this album, and Reddit ‘popheads’ agree: “Fearless was her in her absolute “country pop” prime and has some of her best songwriting.”

Of course, it was also her second album, and she’s grown a lot as an artist and as a person since then. For these reasons, it’s easy to see why most fans have locked this album away in their heart – but it’s not their favorite.

7 Reputation (2017)

If there is any album that struck the music world the hardest, it’s certainly ‘Reputation’. According to most of her Reddit fans, the general consensus is simple: “Reputation is her most anticipated album to date, and she honestly made it worth the wait”.

When it first came out, it was regarded as the best thing out there in the pop world, and sparked a new era for Swift (and a long-awaited documentary). As time has passed, fans will always have a special place for it, but musically, it has nestled in among the rest of her brilliant work.

6 Speak Now (2010)

Taylor Swift is a unique artist in that lots of fans have quite literally grown up and passed all the powerful stages of life with her music. ‘Speak Now’ might just be as highly regarded by Reddit ‘popheads’ as it is because of this exact reason.

“Speak Now is just a magical album to me, perfectly capturing the mixed feelings about growing up” – and that’s simply put. Fans will never be able to stop crying at ‘Mine’, ‘Back to December’, or ‘Ours’, and they’re quite literally cemented in time.

5 Lover (2019)

After Taylor Swift vanished for what seemed like decades to fans, she came back with a fierce album: ‘Reputation’. However, she quickly dove back to her roots and what made everyone fall in love with her in the first place, with ‘Lover’.

“Lover resparked my love for Taylor Swift” says one redditor, and this was a common trend for Reddit users and Swifties. This album was everything fans missed about her poetry, her voice, and her elegance.

4 1989 (2014)

This album might have been that moment where Swift’s songs were played non-stop on the radio, and they quickly became timeless. From ‘Style’ to ‘Blank Space’, there probably isn’t anyone in the world that doesn’t know these tunes.

‘1989’ is “a monster of an album, and a landmark in Taylor Swift’s career”, and it’s hard to celebrate this musical icon without acknowledging this album. It’s slid through most of Reddit’s threads as an agreed-upon staple in this artist’s discography.

3 Evermore (2020)

This album is definitely the sister to ‘Folklore’, and it has people listening to it on repeat already. While it has the same poetic and mature vibes, and every song is truly golden, it’s slightly behind Folklore and the hype over ‘Cardigan’ and the like.

Reddit users have already dominated the internet with their opinions, and they’re coming in hot: “I was thinking this had less of an impact than folklore, but I am on my 3rd listen and I feel heartbroken all over again. This was a slower burn and just *chef’s kiss*”.

2 Folklore (2020)

‘Folklore’ might be that moment where all Taylor Swift fans and the singer herself have come together for an intense, emotional, and totally raw experience. When this surprise album hit streaming services, it was a Swiftie’s dream come true.

“Is it weird that every time I listen to Folklore I cry because I’m so unbelievably proud of her?” and “Majority of the songs make me want to cry. Anyone else?” are some popular opinions, and it basically just sums up that this album has touched our hearts and souls more than any other – and Taylor Swift has finally reached a level that she had yet to.

1 Best: Red (2012)

No matter how brilliant Taylor Swift’s newest albums have been, it seems that nothing will compare to how fans felt when they listened to ‘Red’: “I feel like Red will always be my #1. It’s just so special to me and nothing will compare to how emotional All Too Well made me the first time I heard it.”

This album was when it became truly impossible to ignore the talent of Taylor Swift, and even eight years later – everyone’s still listening to ‘Red’, ’22’, ‘Begin Again’, and basically every other song it has to offer. It was a new era for Swift – and for her listeners.
