Genshin Impact‘s 2.3 update livestream has confirmed that Arataki Itto, Gorou, cute dog rescues, and more will be added to the game when the update releases in a few weeks. The popular online action RPG recently celebrated its first anniversary, and there is speculation that Genshin Impact earned up to 3.7 billion in first-year revenue, beating out games like Fortnite and GTA 5. With its current playerbase numbering at around 8 million active monthly users and the game regularly releasing new characters for players to spend money trying to get, it wouldn’t be surprising if the speculation on its first-year earnings was indeed accurate.

There’s been a lot of rumors, leaks, and speculation as to what Genshin Impact’s 2.3 update will introduce. Previous Genshin Impact 2.3 update leaks already revealed that Arataki Itto will be the patch’s new 5-star character, while Albedo will be the update’s rerun banner. Another leak claimed that a new world boss called the Golden Wolf Lord will be added in the new update and will spawn somewhere on Sumuri Island, which was added in the game’s 2.2 patch.

Genshin Impact recently held its 2.3 update livestream, and revealed a lot of details on the game’s upcoming content patch, which is launching on November 24, 2021. First off, the livestream officially confirmed that Arataki Itto and Gorou are the new playable characters coming with the 2.3 update. Fans of the game have been anticipating the arrival of both characters since Gorou was leaked earlier this year and Itto was unveiled by MiHoYo early last month. The new update will also be the first to feature two 5-star reruns. Albedo and Eula will have separate rerun banners available at the same time and will share the same pity system counter, so players can pull one for one banner until they’ve done so 80 times then switch over to the other for the guaranteed 5-star pull with a 50/50 chance to get the banner character.

The Albedo and Eula banner re-runs coincide with the 2.3 update’s new story event dubbed “Shadows Amidst Snowstorms,” which will take place in the Dragonspine Mountains and will see both characters return to the snowy region to conduct new investigations. While the reason behind it is unclear, the trailer for the new update hints that players may have to fight against the Favonius Knights’ chief alchemist in the limited-time story event, which will also feature players rescuing cute dogs in hats. Players may also participate in new minigames and challenges during the event to gain rewards such as the new four-star sword called the Cinnabar Spindle, Primogems, and more. Some of the other things the 2.3 update is adding include the aforementioned Golden Wolf Lord world boss as well as new domains, weapons, artifact sets, a new gadget that lets players add pets to their serenitea pot, and more.

Genshin Impact players have a whole lot to look forward to when the 2.3 update releases in less than two weeks. The introduction of double rerun banners is certainly one of the more significant changes to the game moving forward, as players will no longer have to wait as long before getting another chance to obtain a character they may have previously missed or failed to get.
