The new War For Wakanda DLC has arrived for Marvel’s Avengers, and players are destroying enemies in brand new ways with Black Panther unlocked as a playable character. The latest free DLC dropped on August 17th and brought brand new missions, equipment, and the ability for players to play as Black Panther. The brand new mission has T’Challa repelling an attack from A.I.M. attempting to control Wakanda’s Vibranium, but the Avengers have come to help out in their defense.

Playing as Black Panther, players will recognize a lot of the same abilities and features seen in the movie of the same name. The War For Wakanda expands Wakanda in Marvel’s Avengers, by providing a glimpse of the Wakanda capital Birnin Zana and the Wakandan’s god Baast. Baast is the panther god that gives T’Challa, and his Black Panther predecessors, their powers. Many characters in the Black Panther family also appear, such as Zawavari, Okoye, and Shuri.

Unlocking the Black Panther as a playable character in Marvel’s Avengers is more straightforward than it might seem, but the essential part is how to play with T’Challa permanently. Since all of the DLCs have been free, new content has been easily accessible and given rise to other playable characters such as Hawkeye and Kate Bishop. The first step to unlocking Black Panther is to download and install the War For Wakanda DLC update.

What Are The Steps To Get Black Panther In Marvel’s Avengers

After downloading Marvel’s Avengers War For Wakanda DLC, head to the DLC on the main screen and begin the adventure. The game will go straight into the story of how Vibranium came to be, how it ended up in Wakanda, and how Wakanda is under attack by invading forces. Players will start the mission in control of Black Panther and get to take down a few enemies to test their skills with him right off the get-go. After some adventuring, players discover that Ulysses Klaue is attempting to take the Vibranium for themselves.

At the end of this first mission, players will have to defeat Crossbones, who is protecting a sonic cannon destroying the shield around Wakanda. Do enough damage to drop Crossbones to his knees, and then destroy the pink triangle-looking buttons on the sides of the cannon to damage it. Repeat the process, and after the gun gets destroyed, players will head to the capital, Birnin Zana, where T’Challa will join with the Avengers. At this point, Black Panther is available for all missions, and if players finish his storyline, they will unlock a new costume for him.

Marvel’s Avengers is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Stadia.
