Manifest is officially returning for its third season on April 1, promising to reveal details about flight 828 and the mysterious things that happened to the airplane and passengers during that puzzling five-year gap when time seemingly stood still.

Many of the faces on the series are the kinds that fans know they have seen before in something. That might be because a lot of the actors are either up-and-comers or have guest-starred on numerous high-profile series over the years before finally snagging these leading roles.

Every actor who plays a main character has at least one other acting credit to their name, but some of them have been acting for decades too.

10 Melissa Roxburgh (Michaela Stone)

Michaela is arguably the main protagonist of the series, and Roxburgh plays her mix of tough cop and emotionally intelligent woman beautifully. If she looks familiar, it could be from a number of her past projects.

Roxburgh is probably best known for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, the live-action animated comedy movies based on the popular book series for kids. She also played Ensign Syl in Star Trek Beyond and Olivia on The Marine 4: Moving Target. She had small roles in a number of series, ranging from Arrow to Travelers, before snagging this, her first leading role.

9 Josh Dallas (Ben Stone)

Who can forget Dallas’ role as Prince Charming/David Nolan in the ABC series Once Upon a Time, which he played for seven years until taking on the role of flight 828 passenger Ben. But while that is his most recognizable role, it isn’t his only one.

Dallas was also part of the biggest blockbuster superhero film franchise, playing Fandral in 2011’s Thor. He also appeared in single episodes of shows like Hawaii Five-O, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Doctor Who.

8 J.R. Ramirez (Jared Vasquez)

Fans probably remember Ramirez as Oscar in Netflix series Jessica Jones, and he appeared in another superhero series too: he was Ted Grant/Wildcat in Arrow. He also had a regular role in the Starz series Power.

Ramirez, who spent the last season going undercover to help take down the anti-828ers, might also look familiar from Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, in which he played Diego Hernandez for 10 episodes.

7 Luna Blaise (Olive Stone)

It’s tough to imagine a young teenager feeling left out because she didn’t disappear on a plane with her twin brother. But this is exactly what happens with Olive, and Blaise captures her stereotypical teen angst beautifully.

While Blaise was in Vicious Circle and the indie art film Memoria, her most notable role was a recurring one as Nicole on the sitcom Fresh Off the Boat. Just 13 at the time, it was her first major role, yet she earned a Young Artist Award for her work, showing she was destined for big things.

6 Parveen Kaur (Saanvi Bahl)

The Canadian actor does not yet have many acting credits to her name, having only pursued acting in her 20s. Her first role was in Guillermo Del Toro’s horror drama series The Strain. She also starred in the movie Through Black Spruce, which came out the same year as Manifest‘s inaugural season.

While Kaur has also appeared in a handful of other movies, she is likely most remembered from various small TV roles, including in episodes of Defiance, Saving Hope, American Gods, Workin’ Moms, 9-1-1, and Beyond.

5 Athena Karkanis (Grace Stone)

Imagine moving on with your life after your husband and son went missing and were believed to have perished in a plane crash only to have them return five years later, unchanged. It’s a tough situation but Karkanis plays the character with, well, grace.

Also a Canadian actor, Karkanis’ voice might be as recognizable as her on-screen roles, since she has voiced a number of regular roles, including as Aviva in Wild Kratts. She has also been in a number of horror movies, including Saw IV and Saw VI, Survival of the Dead, and The Barrens. Notable TV series she had roles in include Low Winter Sun, The Lottery, and The Expanse.

4 Jack Messina (Cal Stone)

Only 13 years old, Messina is just starting out, with the role of Cal as his first major one. His only other credit, and only other spot he might be recognizable from, was in a single episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. On that show, he played Salvatore, the young son of an Italian immigrant family.

The actor has a long and promising career ahead of him, though, and has cited Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, and Tom Hanks as actors he hopes to work with one day.

3 Matt Long (Zeke Landon)

Zeke’s entrance in the second season marked a turning point for the series and the main characters. Long has played many roles over the last two plus decades, so chances are, he might look familiar from a number of different places.

Of his many movie and TV roles, he is probably most notable for playing the main character Jack McCallister on the short-lived series Jack & Bobby, which aired from 2004-2005. He also had recurring roles on Mad Men and Private Practice, and main roles in Lucky 7 and Helix.

2 Daryl Edwards (NSA Director Vance)

The presumed bad guy who was revealed to actually be a good guy, NSA Director Vance was one of the faces that fans loved to see return when it was revealed that he hadn’t died. That’s, in large part, thanks to the wonderful acting of Daryl Edwards.

Edwards has been acting since the early ’80s, so there’s any number of projects fans might have seen him in before. Most notably, he was Denny the security guard in NYPD Blue in the ’90s and played a series of roles on Law & Order, from 1990 through to 2005, as well as Dr. West’s Attorney and the Group Home Leader in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit from 2001-2018. Often typecast in roles of authority, he was also a detective in Daredevil, an agent in The Americans, and a judge in Defending Jacob. Fans of the Netflix series The Politician might recognize him as J. Tank Brown.

1 Garrett Wareing (TJ Morrison)

Joining the cast in the second season, the role of TJ is one of Wareing’s first. At just 19 years old, his most known role to date beyond TJ was that of Stetson “Stet” Tate in the 2014 movie Boychoir.

He also played Zach, a lead character, in Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists and was in the movie Independence Day: Resurgence. Fans of Chicago Med might recognize him from a 2018 episode, where he played Josh.
