RHOC: Why Jim Edmonds’ Engagement To Kortnie O’Connor Is Being Mocked

The Real Housewives of Orange County fans aren’t taking Jim Edmonds latest engagement too seriously considering his rocky relationship history. After learning of Jim’s proposal to girlfriend Kortnie O’Connor, spectators have been calling out Jim for popping the big question for the fourth time. His ex-wife Meghan King followed their tumultuous breakup that included cheating rumors and a messy custody battle over their three children. Despite Meghan’s support of Jim and Kortnie, many of her fans don’t share the same feelings.

Meghan remained transparent about her messy split from Jim. They were married for five years and welcomed three children together before parting ways. Meghan accused Jim of sleeping with their nanny behind her back, claims that Jim denies. After the breakup, Jim moved on with Kortnie, someone Meghan admitted engaged in a threesome with Meghan and Jim during their time together. Meghan has even shared her belief that Jim cheated on her with Kortnie during their marriage. Since their 2019 split, Meghan and Jim have gotten to a more amicable place with co-parenting their kids Aspen and twin sons Hart and Hayes.

Meghan has shared her support for Jim and Kortnie’s engagement despite their betrayal towards her. But while Meghan remains the bigger person, her fans are doing all her dirty work for her. Reddit user u/RuaRuaLuLu was quick to blast Kortnie’s engagement announcement noting how it was the fourth time the former professional baseball player has been engaged. Others also referenced old show moments where Jim got called out for his rotating love life. “In the words of Vicki G, “talk to me in five years, when you’re divorced,” one person quipped in homage to show OG Vicki Gunvalson. Others blasted Jim for his poor treatment of Meghan during their breakup.

One critic claimed “no amount of money would ever convince me to marry that dude. Look how he treats the mother of his children.” Meghan and Jim have gone to war over their kids following their breakup and hurled nasty accusations back and forth over their parenting. Someone else noted the low blow Jim took when he filed for divorce from Meghan. “What’s crazy is that he filed for divorce 1 day after their 5 year anniversary,” they said. Kortnie used a “Dear Diary” reference when announcing their engagement on Instagram.

One critic made a mockery of Kortnie’s caption and added their own spin. “Dear Diary, Today I said yes to marrying a man with 3 failed marriages & a whole heap of children,” they said. “He has all the money & power in our relationship, but I’m the one who can change him. I just know it!” The Real Housewives of Orange County fans are not holding back their judgment of Jim’s latest engagement. Though it’s been two years since he and Meghan split, it’s still recent enough for everyone to remember all the negative things Jim put his ex through. Hopefully, Kortnie has better chances at making a marriage with Jim work.
