The most recent addition to From Software’s collection of games, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice reimagines the company’s titular Souls style of game. Providing a high octane action-adventure game maintaining the high skill ceiling and difficulty that the company is known for. Being located in a mythical feudal Japan, players combat a variety of beasts, warriors and demons. Providing a highly advanced stamina system that encourages flawless defense and parrying and encourages aggressive tactics when facing the hardest bosses of the game. Replacing some of the more noteworthy systems of the Dark Souls games with a unique “prosthetics” mechanics to provide identity and individuality in player’s experiences. Sekiro reimagines how a Souls style game operates trading the “turtle” style of play into a difficult but incredibly quick action game in which defense and offense blend perfectly.

Sekiro rewards highly skilled players to express their technical prowess against the many enemies of the game. But providing newer players or less advanced players a variety of avenues in order to excel throughout the campaign. Regardless of how much or how little skill a player possesses Sekiro presents an engaging story and combat system alongside a wide cast of interesting and awesome enemies. One aspect of the Souls series that has remained consistent in Sekiro is the need to grind and farm XP. This guide will provide a very quick and efficient route to run in order to bolster your XP sum in the early game of Sekiro. This route is incredibly quick and provides on average around 600 XP per minute.

Grinding XP in the Ashina Castle Gate in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

The route begins by spawning at the Ashina Castle Gate sculptor idol. The area in which players faced the mounted boss fight.

Once at this location head straight and you will encounter an archer. Quickly defeat this enemy then head up the large wall towards your right. After scaling this wall you will find a group of enemies near a single tree.

These enemies are the key to this farming route as they provide the most amount of XP. To defeat these enemies it is important you possess the Axe weapon as it quickly destroys their powerful shields. Once their shields are broken you can perform a lethal hit and provides a decent amount of XP. Be sure to defeat all the enemies near this area. Then climb the wall and head back to the Sculptor’s idol to reset the enemies spawn.

Rinse and repeat to your heart’s content and watch as you gain a large amount of XP in a short amount of time.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
