Spiritfarer is a charming resource management game where you travel from island to island continually building up Stella’s boat and adding new buildings and services for the many spirit guests. To do so, players need to find unique materials to craft these additions.

Aluminum, also known as Aluminium in some parts of the world, is one of the many metals Stella can come across on her travels. Many important buildings require this metal to craft, so obtaining it is necessary for every player’s playthrough. This guide will take a look at where to find Aluminum and what it can be used to make.

Where to find Aluminum Ore in Spiritfarer

Aluminum ingots can be obtained by smelting aluminum ore. Players can find this resource in several different locations, but some more reliable than others. Listed below are all possible sources:

  • The Aluminum Dragon – This entity has aluminum ore protruding from it’s back that Stella can mine. It is found in Loneberg at the coordinates -132, 134. The dragon can be accessed once players complete the designated quest from Summer, one of Stella’s spirit guests.
  • The Turtle Sisters – Scattered about the sea are three giant turtle sisters. Stella can plant certain materials, like aluminum ore, in their backs, and it will grow more of that resource after time has passed.
  • Loneberg Crates – In the Loneberg part of the ocean, some crates have a chance to drop aluminum ore. It’s not common, but the ones found can be taken to the turtle sisters and duplicated.

After acquiring the ore, players will need to smelt it in the ship’s Foundry. The blueprints for this building can be purchased from Albert at his shipyard for 400 glim, 2 maple logs, and 1 limestone. This is the second tier of upgrades purchasable, so players will be able to access the foundry relatively early on provided they’ve found the right materials to build it.

Uses for Aluminum in Spiritfarer

Now that Stella has aluminum ingots in her possession, she can construct a variety of upgrades for her ship. Some of them are especially important, as they can help create new resources and provide amenities for the spirits so they can travel in comfort. Here are five important things that require aluminum ingots to make:

  • Windmill – An add-on for Stella’s ship, it can turn grains into flour while giving the boat a stylish flair.
  • Orchard – Can be used to grow fruits on the ship to feed the spirit guests. Great for those looking to complete every recipe in the game, as it will continue to supply them with produce.
  • Rock Destroyer – This ship upgrade allows the boat to break through rock barriers and access previously locked off areas.
  • Atul’s Desk – Furnishes Atul’s workshop with a desk so he can work.
  • Astrid’s TV – Adds a TV to Astrid’s Bungalow for her entertainment.

Spiritfarer is available on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
