Like Pikachu, several pure Electric-type Pokémon are actually great competitive choices, and a few others have unique dual-types perfect for most teams.

Electric-type Pokémon are great competitive choices because of their weakness, resistances, and the types of Pokémon that they can overpower easily. Electric-type Pokémon will receive 2x damage from Ground-type Pokémon moves only, and their Electric-type attacks do nothing against Ground-type Pokémon.
